How do you get hold of Minecraft capes You might ask? There are rumors, whispers, and rumors that there is a mythical piece of cloth that covers the top of Minecraft players shoulders. Legends tell of a myriad of Minecraft capes given to the lucky few throughout the years. The word on the block (sigh) is that capes alter the appearance of Minecraft Elytra, the magical wings found in end ships, since they take up the same area on a player's back. Needless to say, Minecraft capes are extremely sought-after but haven't been easy to obtain.

Every year, a new colour and design was given to attendees of any Minecon event prior to Minecon Earth 2017. The personal caps are rarer that are awarded to people in recognition of their achievements. Reddit user U/billyk_ received the turtle cape after suggesting that Mojang include turtles into Minecraft.

If you're unable to come up with a suggestion that is similar to turtles or that allows you to travel back in time to Minecons past, you won't be able to purchase any of these Minecraft capses in the Java edition. They are more common in the Bedrock version because there are many skin packs available in the Marketplace. If you want them for free, you can try on a cape using the assistance of Minecraft mods, but it'll only be visible to you. There is one currently available Minecraft cape available for the Java edition, though, so read on to find out how to get it.

Change your Minecraft account's settings to get a Minecraft cape

In a blog post in 2020, Mojang announced that it will be migrating all Minecraft Java edition accounts from Mojang to Microsoft. This is a must-do change. If you don't make the switch when the time comes, you won't be allowed to play Minecraft until you have the launcher.

On the plus side, though when you log in to Minecraft with your Microsoft account, you'll gain access to a shiny new cape - and possibly more than that, as Mojang suggests that players will receive more than one outfit to show off'. Mojang does not automatically create new Minecraft accounts.

You can learn more about how to do it by reading this blog post by Mojang.

How do I activate Minecraft caps

You can equip your official Minecraft cape prior to launching a game if you have one. However, your capes Bedrock capes are only available to the version you have. This is the same for any capes you earn in Minecraft Java version.

Start the app and click on the button to access the Dressing Room from your main menu. Then, click the tab to the left with a red cape and Mojang's logo. This will display all available capes. Select one to equip.

To get the Java version, open the Launcher and then click Minecraft: Java Edition on each tab to the left. You will be presented with a range of options that include Skins. To see all your skins, select this option. From here, you can create a new skin or edit an existing one. Soundz Promising You can see all of your available caps by clicking on the option to choose Skin File.

Get a cape with Minecraft mods

What if your avatar requires a cape and you don't have the money for the free cape of migration? Luckily, with the power of mods, you can get your own cape to bellow behind you as you walk! Mods like the Advanced Capes Mod make it possible to get any of the most sought-after caps in the game or any cape you can imagine.

There's a caveat to this that other players you interact with on multiplayer Minecraft servers aren't able to see your cape unless they also have the same mods installed. Waiting for official Mojang capes to be handed to you when your account moves is the best way to make sure everyone is able to see your cape.

This is everything you must know about buying yourself a cool Minecraft cape If you're looking for a cape for a perfect outfit here are the top Minecraft skins we've seen or you could deck yourself out with a complete costume of Minecraft Netherite armor.
