Pugnacious Priest's Warcraft Blog

There are enough tools available to conduct basic research on the player's application to your guild. It is all dependent on how thorough and serious a guild is about filtering applicants beyond a formal application, interview, and the trial period. Warcraft Realms is one tool. It can help you ask specific questions to someone. For example, you've been in 10 guilds since turning 70. What were the reasons for quitting? While an application might not include all guilds they've been involved in since turning 70, there are some that start and fall disband, rename and disband. This shouldn't be used to determine if someone is a bad member for your guild. However, it can assist you in identifying inconsistencies, and even ask questions.

All you have to know is your realm and your player's name. Utilizing Warcraft Realms It Gives you a complete guild history- with standard disclaimers regarding the reliability of the armory..

Do a search on the character's name, and it will provide you with a the entire list of realms that Name appears on. Click on the toon for the appropriate realm, class, and race.

My Profile shows First Sight December 31st, 2006 (When I reached level 9). Last Seen Aug 02 08 (most recent Armory refresh).

and then it will give you the guild history

What does this say about my character? I was in the same guild from 15 to 65 - which means an edifying guild that I didn't have to raid prior to Burning crusade.. I was not a good enough level at level 66, so I left my home guild to join the guild that lasted one month at 70. After being in the guild for six months, I switched guilds to join a new one that lasted over a month. I've been in my current guild since March of this year.

Conclusions Ignoring pre 70 and post 70, we will be looking at post BC raiding content. I've been around 70 for the past year, and have had the chance to have seen Kara, ZA, TK, SSC, BT Hjyal, and Sunwell. This doesn't necessarily mean that I have seen them all. I have a fairly stable history of guilds, which means I don't have to change guilds each month since I turned 70. I have been in three raiding groups. (A Wow Jutsu Search will inform you about the individual progress of each guild, which gives an amount of weight to the experience gained from raiding as mentioned on my application). I left one guild after over one month and was in two guilds for about a month. If those three guilds weren't on my application as previous guilds I would be asking why?

Recently, I was looking at a person who had quit our guild. I noticed that he been through all of the top guilds for raiding on the server in short time. He did not leave our guild in the most favorable terms. I'm not sure if he will apply to the other guilds, but his instability indicates that he is not a person with a history of staying around.

One of the indicators that tell you that a toon is a server transfer is the absence of guild history on warcraft realms - that they suddenly appeared on the server at level 70 Its quite easy for someone with an unpopular reputation to switch servers and also change their name, making it harder to track, however, a tool/armory crawler called Wow Progress have a detective feature that allow you to monitor server transfers and name changes. It only goes back to May 11th of this year, however it is a great option to check if things just don't add up.
