These Minecraft Ancient City Redesigns Are Gloriously Green

Minecraft builders are renovating 1.19 update's old cities as if they were never ruined.

As if the dark and gloomy were not enough, brave builders are currently pulling off entire revamps of Minecraft 1.19's huge new ancient cities. You know, just a bit of light construction in between other projects.

The massive structures that have been destroyed deep beneath are frightening by default: ruined pillars dotted the dark, covered with sculk and shriekers ready to summon the warden if you don't tip-toe through their territory.

Perhaps the wardens are cranky because their homes are in a state of disrepair though. https://fun-gallery.com/ These builders are restoring the old cities to their glory of the past. Some have been completely remodeled with lush cave vegetation to prove they used to be life-sustaining genuine cities. Others add lore of their own and brighten the dark with an abundance of bright blocks. At least one of them decided to keep the spooky atmosphere. Perhaps the ancient cities were always risky. The builders were often so determined that they built their structures in a rigid style and were not innovative. I'm not doing this.

These builds utilize the best Minecraft shaders and texture packs to create vivid auras. Here are some of the most original and beautiful ancient city designs, along with links to the creators. As always, this is just the most recent in Minecrafting. We also have some stunning desert temple designs, underwater bases and many more amazing Minecraft designs.

This restored ancient city by Unsorted Guy brings back the dark and deep to a time before it was surrounded by wardens and sculk. Unsorted Guy shows how he began by replacing all the sculk in the city with deepslate blocks. He also converted the ceilings into stalactites and brought in tons and tons of vines from the caves that were lush. In addition to restoring all the structures, Unsorted Guy relocates some grass blocks and excavates an aquisition, and even constructs his own version of an old city farm. This place truly was alive at one time. The final design has a mountain-city vibe because of all the water.

This Andyisyoda reimagined city is giving me huge Atlantis impressions. There's also a ton of greenery being added to this. It's hard to believe these underground cities were ever grey and uncolored.

In the build timelapse embedded above, you can see Andyisyoda building high-fantasy bridges over an ocean of water, all dripping with vines. They also kept some of the spookiness alive by using an lava moat which circles the giant portal. By the end, they've got an entire sunken city surrounded by towers, massive lush greenery and walls of lights.

Fixxitt412 has managed to create an entire city by hand, and in hardcore survival mode. This means that there's no life after death. Fixxitt412 spent 100 days. Fixxitt's construction is also very green , with manicured areas dotted with farms and flowers. However, they haven't eliminated all sculk completely, which is nice.

The building has a magical look to it with lots of lights and stained glass emanating from the copper conduits at the top of the central portal. They've even made plans for houses for some villagers to descend and live in the deep dark, though I do wonder how long they'd last.

Another lush subterranean city was built by RandomGgames (opens in new tab) and OceanManRulesZaWardo. This one is more of an overgrown look, maybe even more abandoned than the original cities themselves already are. Like these other gorgeous green buildings, this one utilizes a lot of leaves and vines and incorporates some classic old glowstone blocks for lighting. It appears like the two have cleared out pretty much all the sculk and have replaced it with wooden walkways and arches made of deep slate.

This "build" is actually only two images (opens new tab) however it's a pretty good image that I couldn't resist including it for all of the other inspiration-seekers in this room.

This is the exact opposite of the calming, green recreations of the historic city. If Seggie ever fleshed this out, I have no doubt it would wind up looking like a much more terrifying place than Nether fortresses. The skull archway as well as the blue flames are very foreboding.

Okay it's not an actual Minecraft build in the slightest. This Lego set is based on the Veyniac540's old cities (opens in an entirely new tab). But come on, that's seriously neat. If you're looking to build it yourself, they have the directions and a list of parts (opens new tab). Once you're done playing Minecraft There are also parts and instructions to help you.
