Warcraft: Khadgar's Life before Leading The Kirin Tor

One of the most powerful magi in World of Warcraft is the human Khadgar. Since the time that the First War ravaged Azeroth, Khadgar has been a well-known figure. He was one of the main warriors in Warlords Of Draenor and Legion. However Khadgar has been ignored in the two previous expansions. When he makes his big return in Dragonflight the entire story will be changed. While it's not certain what his story will be about however, it will have major implications for the future development of Azeroth.



Khadgar wasn't always the powerful mage World of Warcraft players have come across. There was an era when he was just a young boy who was interested in learning the art of magic. He was an avid reader, but his life would soon be uprooted when he was forced to become a champion for the people. The world of Azeroth could have faced more if it wasn't for his help.

Khadgar's Apprenticeship

When Khadgar was 17, he was sent to apprentice under the great wizard Medivh. To many, including Khadgar, Medivh seemed like nothing more than a kind and eccentric old man. Upon arriving at Karazhan, Medivh would put him to work cleaning his library. As Khadgar wandered, he stumbled upon a room that held a vision of humans fighting against the orcs, and it looked like he was leading the charge. This shocked Khadgar, as he had no idea why he would be leading this army into battle.



One day, Khadgar was attacked by Medivh and accused of being a thief, however, the sage quickly apologised after remembering who Khadgar was. He took him to the south of the kingdom where he was able climb up on gryphons to make up for the error. Khadgar was in a position to meet his first orcs and warlocks. They also encountered the Champion Anduin Lothar, who would urge Medivh to join Stormwind's defenses, however Medivh refused. Lothar would then ask Khadgar to take over as Medivh's caretaker in the event that he made controversial decisions.



Medivh would start acting more unpredictable and he would then remain in seclusion for days. Khadgar began to question Medivh's actions and worry that something was terribly wrong with Medivh. He went to meet Garona half-orc, and began to understand the motives behind what Medivh was doing. Khadgar came to the realization that the wizard was planning to open the portal between Azeroth and Draenor and then ran to King Llan Wrynn in order to obtain a group of soldiers led by Anduin Lothar.



The group confronted Medivh and found that he had forged a psychic link to the warlock Gul'Dan. Khadgar took on Medivh and was able plunge a sword into the heart of his master. But, Khadgar's life energy and magical powers would be drained from his body. He would leave Karazhan with the energy he had lost and then bury his master.





The Aftermath of Medivh's Death

The orcs would go on to destroy Stormwind and force the humans to flee to the kingdom of Lordaeron. Khadgar would flee with them, but the battle with Medivh would forever alter him. His life force would remain drained, leaving his face to take on the appearance of an old man with white hair. Luckily, he would still maintain the strength and agility of a young man.



Khadgar would be the official liaison of The Council of Six to Anduin Lothhar. He would become instrumental in fighting the Horde during the Second War, and they would bring the orcs back to the Dark Portal. Wow Servers Anduin Lothar would be killed there but Khadgar would destroy the portal. He would oversee the construction of Nethergarde Keep to defend against another Draenor invasion and that attack would soon be upon us.



Khadgar would lead an expedition into Draenor in order to stop the Horde from attempting to invade again. He was required to shut the portal on the other side and cut off his forces from Azeroth. The Alliance believed that he was dead and would memorialize his memory with a statue. They didn't know that Khadgar was to become the main character of numerous World of Warcraft expansions.
