Who are you?




I'm InvisibleUp. You can call me Viz. I'm your friendly neighborhood ghost on the internet. OOOoooOOoo~...



I'm not a fan of the spooky sort of things. I'd like to be an honest, loving person. Most importantly, I'd like to make people the best they can be. I do not believe in being edgy or in being apathetic or negative. If you're having an awful day I'd like you to relax here and look up Sonic or AOL or whatever. A friend of mine once called me "a breath of fresh air" and I'll accept that as an invitation to be the spring breeze that blows through your sails.



IRL I'm not bald and I'm alive. I am actually a young lady with a curly reddish-reddish-reddish hair. I'm currently studying electrical engineering at the college. I am an expert in the field of embedded device development and have worked on some cool projects, like space satellites and the overhaul of a department's reporting system.



I'm a fan of retro technology (everything's more interesting with limitations), indie games, riding my bike through nature trails and public transportation, as well as Sonic the Hedgehog. I'm always willing to try new things. Who knows? Perhaps I'll discover a new favorite thing. It's always a blast.





What is this site?

It's mostly a place to dump random thoughts. It's split up into some broad categories.



The Articles section, the first one with semi-regular content, is where I attempt to explain and/or gush about things that I am interested in or things I'm working on. It's not updated often because it is difficult to come up with new content.



The Hacking notes includes some helpful tips and tools for modders of old video games. There's also the Projects which include more substantial material that I have worked on and can stand on its own. There is also the Doodles which is where I try to express myself creatively.





Any favorite games/webcomics/whatever?

I'm kinda into video games? While I will play them occasionally I wouldn't say I'm a gamer. I find the medium fascinating, and I am fascinated by what people can accomplish with it in terms of the emotions and experiences they can express, and how they use it to their advantage. Some games I'm kinda into either right now or in the past include Night in the Woods, deltarune, Tetris Attack, a majority of the Sonic series, and Minecraft.



For movies my top picks include Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Forrest Gump, About Time, and Kiki's Delivery Service. I like my plots to feature lots of solid character interactions, more than a flashy plot.



My musical tastes are... unusual. My tastes in music were influenced by SoundCloud YouTube, SoundCloud and old videogames. But in short my favorite songs are either earworms that have an excellent bassline (I'm obsessed with 80's J-Pop and the 00's alternative) or instrumental tracks that make you feel the music, not just listen to it. (stuff like Fleetwood Mac, Styx, Blue Album-era Beatles and Pink Floyd.)





What's the matter with the username?

Surprisingly, this is a short story. I was watching a Mario gaming marathon in support of charity (led by MonotoneTim who is a very cool dude) and was in need of an account to join the chat. I thought, "You know what's awesome?" The Boo mushrooms from Super Mario Galaxy, which can make you appear invisible. gaming After about 15 seconds of contemplation, I finally typed "InvisibleUp" in my head and kept going. (In retrospect, I should have chose something that had fewer syllables.)





And the ghostsona?

I started out for years with a logo that looked vaguely like a ghost from Pac-Man. I really wanted a unique profile pic, so I made one. That being said, a few years later I decided that it kinda sucked. I felt a need to have an actual kind of human face to represent my posts instead of just some weird abstract logo thing. I wanted to have a more personal presence on the 'net than I had let myself have before. So, I came up with Inviz.



It is possible to say that she was inspired by Napstablook in Undertale and Vivian TTYD from Paper Mario. I could have drawn myself as a human, but I wanted to try my hand in creating characters. You know, I need to keep the ghost theme going. Also, I'm a bit snarky about privacy to use my real face.
