Microsoft announced that they have sold 176 million copies of Minecraft, quite a big jump over the 156 million figure they announced just seven months ago. Despite the hype around Fortnite, Microsoft has kept Minecraft up-to-date with features like the Dungeons Online Co-op, a free browser edition, and even a movie. Now, there's an augmented reality version of the game called Minecraft Earth. Microsoft announced that it has reached 200 million registered users of the Microsoft China edition and completed 130 million Minecraft "Hour of Code" sessions.

It looks very promising. Microsoft plans to launch Minecraft Earth across the globe slowly, beginning with an open beta this summer.
