For many, the biggest drawback of Minecraft's Pocket and Windows 10 Editions has been the absence of community content. What's the point of playing Minecraft on your phone if aren't able to try that cool new texture pack you saw on your PC? This is your chance to try it. Microsoft and Mojang are launching the Marketplace that lets Pocket and Windows 10 gamers download content from community creators, such as textures, skins, and entire worlds. Instead of purchasing paid content, you can buy "Minecraft Coins", which allow you to buy the add-ons that you desire. It's ostensibly to help producers determine "flexible prices," although it also can disguise the worth of the items you're purchasing. The Marketplace only permits creators with registered businesses, so it's not going to allow your fun-filled project. However, those that do get in receive a 70 percent share of the revenue as do typical mobile app stores. Even though they may not be able to earn as much directly, a business that is successful can still make a lot of money.
The Marketplace will initially be limited in access. The beta version of the Marketplace will be made available to the public in the middle of April. There won't be any creator content, as it will be waiting until the official launch in spring. This will still bridge the gap between your Minecraft experience on mobile devices and those on PCs.
