Journey is clean at DICE awards

Journey won Game of the Year at the 2013 Design Innovate Communicate Entertainment Awards (DICE) alongside seven other awards.



Thatgamecompany's meditative game was awarded Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction Outstanding Innovation in Gaming, Casual Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction, Outstanding Achievement in Online Gameplay, Outstanding Achievement in the field of Original Music Composition and outstanding achievement in sound Design.



It was nominated in all categories, but it was not awarded Outstanding Achievement in Gameplay Engineering (which went at XCOM: Enemy Unknown) and Outstanding Achievement in Story (which was awarded to The Walking Dead).



Jenova Chen, the CEO of the company thatgame, will be satisfied with the results. She mentioned in her DICE address that development of the game had caused financial problems for her studio.



Journey was more than three years Sony paid for the studio that he created the game, and Chen was unable to pay its employees after they had completed their work on the game.



It has since be the best-selling PlayStation Network release of all time.



Superbot will be able to bask in the fact that the fight game of the year, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale was named Fighting Game of the Year.



All nominees were put forward by the DICE academy's peer panels and all academy members were able to vote for the winners.
