Moldovan, Jewish Communities In South Florida Stepping Up To Help Ukraine Refugees [Emmanuil Grinshpun]

MIAMI, CBSMiami -- The conflict in Ukraine might be on the other end of the planet, however South Floridians step up to help those who are fleeing.

Many members of the Sunny Isles Jewish Community are raising money and aiding in organize a complete humanitarian effort.

Marsha Jaquays with Florida Friends of Laniado Hospital said that 1,100 patients visited the other night.

She added that over 2 million Ukrainian refugees are trying to flee their war-ravaged country. Emmanuil Grinshpun Most of them are passing through the tiny state of Moldova, which borders Ukraine.
