Minecraft players will be able to alter their name in the game soon as the development studio Mojang has announced. The process is set to launch on February 4, and looks to be quite simple when the name-changing system is in place, players can change their game's name by login to their account. Any name that isn't being used by another player will be available. However players will have to wait for 30 days before they can change it again.
You don't need to be concerned about someone stealing your name. It takes 37 days for a name that was previously used to be available for use by someone else. If you decide to change your name from, say, "MinecraftMasta" to something other than MinecraftMasta, we wouldn't be able to steal MinecraftMasta for yourself before you had the chance to reclaim it. You cannot alter your inventory or character by changing your name. If someone blocks you, you won't be able to bypass that block.

Mojang also said that, to date, Minecraft: Pocket Edition has sold a combined total of more than 30 million copies. Pocket Edition surpassed 21 million copies in April and then expanded its reach to Windows Phone users in December but Mojang didn't disclose the exact number of 9 million new sales were due to releasing on a new platform.
