Amazon was today putting the finishing elements on its first smartphone, which is set to be launched in the next few hours by boss Jeff Bezos.
It is believed that device will utilize retina-tracking technology to make images on the smartphone's display appear to float above the screen like a hologram and appear three-dimensional at all angles.'
AT&T will be the first to launch the handset in the US in a deal similar to the launch of the original iPhone.
The much-hyped holophone from Amazon is scheduled to be revealed on June 18. On Wednesday, Amazon unveiled an teaser video that shows people's reactions to the handset. Images of the phone have were previously leaked online. The most recent images (pictured below) show a slim phone which resembles Apple's iPhone.
The deal has already upset AT&T's competitors.

Images of the phone were previously released on the internet.
It is being developed at Lab126 Amazon's secretive Silicon Valley hardware unit.
More than 1,600 people have claimed Lab126 as their employer on the professional networking site LinkedIn, according to Business Week.
The recent images also show a slim phone that looks like Apple's iPhone.
BGR has stated that multiple reliable sources have confirmed the authenticity of the image. It was created by Amazon graphic designers for internal use.
The handset is said to be influenced by the design of Apple's iPhone 5 and Google's Nexus handset.
As you can see in this latest image released exclusively by BGR the phone from Amazon will sport a style that is similar to other full touch smartphones currently on the market,' said BGR.

"In fact it appears that it is taking design cues from several smartphones including Apple's iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy S line. The HTC One has a polished, chamfered look much like the Amazon phone.
The handset is expected to come with a 4.7 inch display with 720p HD resolution and a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB RAM, and six individual camera modules to create the 3D effect.
It will run an extremely customized version Google's Android operating system similar to the one seen on Amazon's Kindle Fire tablets.
