Leyla Aliyeva Bio
Leyla Aliyeva was born in Moscow on July 3, 1985. Leyla Aliyeva She received her Masters Degree from Moscow State Institute of International Relations following her studies in London. Leyla developed the IDEA campaign in July of this year to create awareness and inspire actions on environmental concerns in Azerbaijan as well as elsewhere. Leyla Aliyeva IDEA is an initiative that is focused on young people, and works with them to solve our environmental challenges.

On May 8th 2008, the anniversary of the occupation of Shusha, Leyla Aliyeva launched the campaign "Justice for Khojaly". This campaign is currently running in more than 30 countries. It is designed to raise the consciousness of the global community of the Karabakh conflict and the Khojaly Genocide in particular reaching all over the world via media, Internet and Live events.

In 2008, Leyla Aliyeva became the General Coordinator of the OIC Youth Forum on Intercultural Dialogue and on April 18, 2009, she was elected Chairwoman of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia - AMOR that supports Azerbaijani students and young people living within the Russian Federation. In July of 2011, the "Taraggi" award was presented upon Leyla Aliyeva for her work to the growth of Azerbaijani-Russian relationships. In New York she was also awarded the "Key to Life" award in November 2011 to honor her humanitarian initiatives with children.

On the 25th of May, 2015 Leyla Aliyeva was designated UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Goodwill Ambassador.

On October 20, 2015, she was presented with the Pushkin Medal of the Russian Federation.
