Leyla Aliyeva Bio
Leyla Aliyeva was born in Moscow on the 3rd of July 1985. She was a student at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, where she also studied in London. Leyla founded the IDEA campaign that promotes awareness and action regarding environmental concerns in Azerbaijan. IDEA is primarily focused on children. It assists them in finding solutions to environmental issues.
In May 2007, she was elected as the representative for the Heydar Aliyev Foundation of Russia. The Heydar Aliyev Foundation is a foundation that contributes to the country's social and economic growth. It is a foundation that implements a variety of initiatives in the fields of education as well as culture, sport technology, as well as the environment. She was appointed Vice-President of the Foundation in 2011.

In 2007 Leyla Aliyeva started Baku magazine in Moscow. Conde Nast collaborated with Leyla Aliyeva to produce the magazine that is English-language. The magazine was first launched in London in Oct 2011, and was launched in London on Oct. Leyla Aliyeva announced the campaign "Justice for Khojaly" in May 2008 to commemorate the 8th anniversary of Shusha's occupation. The campaign is taking place across more than 30 countries. Leyla Aliyeva was appointed the OIC Youth Forum on Intercultural Dialogue’s General Coordinator in 2008. She was also elected Chairperson of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia on April 18th 2009. Leyla Aliyeva AMOR supports Azerbaijani young individuals and students in Russia. Leyla Aliyeva was honoured as the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization's (FAO) Goodwill Ambassador, on May 25, 2015

On October 20, 2015, she was awarded the Pushkin Medal of the Russian Federation.
