Microsoft is expanding its world of Minecraft into a new action adventure game, Minecraft Legends. The game will be released in 2023 and asks players to explore Minecraft as it is being invaded by an evil force.
Mojang studios of Microsoft who creates Minecraft has described this latest game as a familiar, but in many ways-new experience that is more focused on strategy and combat. The original Minecraft game was released in the year 2011. It lets players create and explore while fighting off zombie-like creatures.
"You are at the heart of every battle you lead fighting alongside your allies and giving them direction," Microsoft said, in an announcement that teased the game. Microsoft stated that it has partnered with Blackbird Interactive, which also developed the upcoming space strategy game Homeworld 3.
Just that Minecraft Legends comes from a popular game doesn't guarantee its success However, it is a good start. Minecraft is a popular video game that ranks right with Super Mario Bros., Grand Theft Auto and Tetris. But its efforts to go beyond the hit formula have been sporadic.

Minecraft Dungeons, an action-adventure title in the Minecraft style was met with mixed praise when it debuted two years ago, as per a survey by Metacritic. GameSpot also a CNET corporate cousin has given Minecraft Dungeons an "good" rating. GameSpot noted that Minecraft Dungeons was focused on fighting monsters, rather than offering a new twist on its basic formula of building worlds. GameSpot's Steve Watts stated that the game doesn't change our expectations of what games could be. Instead, it's relying on its own popularity.
Microsoft announced Minecraft Legends at its annual summer video game showcase, which will be held online this year. The game will be released next year for Xbox, PC and cloud gaming.
