Father of Technoblade, YouTube Minecraft Star Says that his Son has Died

He read his son's final message on the YouTube channel where the 20-something had entertained more than 11 million subscribers with Minecraft games and hilarious comments. The title "So long nerds."



Technoblade Technoblade, a YouTube personality that gained millions of followers with his humorous comments on videos of him playing Minecraft was killed his father announced via a video uploaded to his son's YouTube account.



More than 11 million subscribers made a habit of watching screen recordings of Technoblade's Minecraft gameplay as he provided commentary off camera. He explained the everyday events of life in videos that range from the mundane to going to a D.M.V. or as devastating as being diagnosed with cancer.



Technoblade's YouTube channel released the video "so long geeks" on Thursday. It was watched more than 26 million times since Friday afternoon. The video is different from the channel's typical style, which features colorful bricks with pixelated colors. Instead an individual who claims to identify himself as Technoblade's father is shown sitting in a chair on a stark white background with a small white dog in his lap.



His father, who does not give his name, reads a message from his son. It begins: "Hello, everyone. Technoblade here. If you're watching this, I am dead."



The message then goes on to reveal Technoblade’s first name, Alex. He didn’t use it on the internet. A few pictures of Alex and his family are also included in the video. Alex had never presented himself in his YouTube videos, preferring instead to portray himself as his avatar: a crowned, sword-wielding pig.



Alex's letter says that "If I had another hundred years of years to live, I'm sure I would choose Technoblade every time." "Those were the most blissful years of my life."



His father, who is still emotional throughout the video says that he and his son had been discussing for months whether to make a final film. Instead, Alex decided to write the letter and died about eight hours after finishing it, his father says.

He states, "I don’t think he was able to say everything he wanted, however I believe he was able to get the main points."



The video concludes with a statement written by the writer that is attributed to Alex's mother who isn't named. She stated that Alex was not famous and self-deprecating in spite of his channel's popularity growing.



She wrote that Technoblade was always looking for ways to delight and reward their audience. He gave away prizes online, encouraged good sportsmanship, and most importantly, shared his Minecraft adventures to entertain and fun.



Alex's family was not able to be reached on Friday. Hypixel Gaming, a gaming firm said that Alex's family had requested no comment be sent to them. Don Pireso, the company administrator, stated in a tweet that "The video they shared includes all the information they are comfortable sharing right now."



Alex first acknowledged the diagnosis of cancer in a video posted to his channel in August. The video, which featured Alex's off camera comments, showed the game. He kept his self-deprecating , humorous style, refusing any attempt to be too serious. He also disclosed his age, which was 22.



In the video, he narrated how the first round of chemotherapy made him exhausted to the point that it was impossible to sit for a virtual doctor's appointment. He also joked "Sitting in the chair, am I Superman?"



After experiencing severe pain in his arm the doctor diagnosed him with. Although initially he dismissed the discomfort as a result of repetitive stress due to video games, he said his shoulder was swelling after several days of rest.



He also implored people to get the vaccine Covid-19, saying that the cancer treatments have weakened his immune system, placing him at greater risk of serious illness from the coronavirus.



He said, "I'm going ahead and represent all cancer patients when i find it extremely irritating when hospitals are overwhelmed by people who are dying from preventable diseases." "I'm just saying, we're entitled to the beds in hospitals."



On social media, Technoblade's acquaintances and followers were awestruck by his humor and for being a role model among Minecraft players.



Minecraft is different than other games in that the owner, Microsoft does not have control over the servers that players can interact online. Instead, players are able to create their own servers and join others to create a vast universe of worlds within the Minecraft universe.



Hypixel who manages a network of Minecraft servers, announced that it had created a digital publication where people could write messages and then they could be printed and delivered to the loved ones of Technoblade. The tribute included a photo of Technoblade's pig avatar, as a statue. "In many ways the success of a lot of us is dependent on the success of Technoblade," the company said.
