Right on time, the beta test for Microsoft's augmented reality Minecraft game is now available for Android users to give it the test. Similar to the beta version that iOS users have access to, Minecraft Earth is still only available to registered testers. It's available in just five cities: Mexico City, London, Tokyo, Seattle and Stockholm. If you're unable to access the invite email, follow the link from your mobile device rather than using a computer.
The Minecraft Earth beta recently reset its AR playing field and was updated to version 2.0.0 on iOS. Crafters Earth reports that has introduced familiar mobs such as creepers and spiders to the game, as well as a variety of challenges and adventures. The in-game store lets players to make use of the Rubies currency to purchase plates to build and other things. A blog post explains that Android users can buy them in the game's store right now, with access on iOS to follow in the near future. Any rubies purchased or earned will remain with the player's account through the beta test, and after the game is fully available.
You'll also require a device running Android 7.0 or higher to play in the game. You can find out more information from the game's FAQ here.
