EVE Online is an enormously multiplayer game that is unlike any other on the market. With 220,000 Win Warcraft connecting to a supercomputer that is clustered, with over 60 servers that run paladin leveling the same persistent universe of 5,000 star systems, it's staggering in its depth, and at the worldofwarcraft level, there's a huge demand for EVE Online guides out there.
First, EVE Online's design means that a lot of traditional "MMOG" guides don’t work well. The majority of MMOs can handle 300 to 2,000 players on a single server. They often have multiple instances of multiple servers (City of Heroes for instance, which has 18 servers at the time of writing). EVE Online has one server for English-speaking customers and one server for Chinese customers. All players are on the same server.
EVE Online guides will be suitable for a greater percentage of the World of Warcraft mods as there are fewer differences in code bases. This also means that EVE Online guides are in high demand; there is a lot to know about a game with as many variables as EVE Online.
The first thing that a quality EVE Online guide will cover is skill selection and training. EVE Online has third-party applications, such as EVE Monitor, that can assist in determining your skills. However EVE Online's skill-selection is more important than worldofwarcraft alliance missions and quests. There are plenty of players who have spent a large deal of time in the game since it was in beta making their characters, and letting their skills improve with time. While not all of them are worth your time, many are. They are the primary source of authorship for EVE Online guides.
A good EVE Online guide will walk you through the basic concepts of EVE Online. https://grnonline.info/ This guide can be found on the EVE Online homepage. It will explain the aspects that make EVE Online different than other MMOGs.
There's more to EVE Online than just characters. There are equipments (how to put what weapons on what ships from which factions), economic guides, how to establish corporations and establish trust with your corporation mates to ensure that you have someone who is in charge of the store) and how to market your technology to maximize your ISKs.
As you can see there is a lot to be covered in an EVE Online book. Most guides cost between $15 to $50. Be sure to go through reviews and ensure that they're updated to work with the Trinity client.
