Types of Martial Arts
There are many different types of martial arts. Some are used as combat sports while others are considered purely recreational. Some people practice both. Those who practice judo, for example, may also practice Juego de mani, which combines martial arts and dance. Other styles of fighting include Kung fu, a Chinese martial art, and Jujitsu, a Japanese martial art.
Sanda is a close-combat system

A hybrid of kickboxing and kung fu, Sanda allows for projections and uses weapons like kickboxing, but does not allow for the use of knees and elbows. This means that it is primarily a form of unarmed self-defense. Sanda also allows for the use of traditional Chinese weapons, such as the praying mantis sword, which can be used with one or both hands. However, like many other martial arts, there are certain rules and regulations for the use of weapons in Sanda.

One of the main differences between Muay thai and Sanda is that Muay thai and Sandha do not feature finishing holds. The rules of Sanda focus on quick and precise striking, and clinching is not allowed. However, it does allow for the use of throws and trips to throw an opponent to the ground. The fights in Sanda are not as technical as those in kickboxing or muay thai, but the sparring is fast and intense.

The Chinese government started regulating Sanda as a combat sport in the 1960s. This was done with the aim of combining the best techniques from all Chinese martial arts and putting them into one combat style. This resulted in a fighting style that blends striking with grappling. The sport version of Sanda is a much safer version than the military version, which uses elbow strikes and joint locks.
Jujitsu is a Japanese martial art

Jujitsu is a Japanese martial arts that requires a wide variety of skills. It is highly practical and enjoyable to learn. The syllabus is structured to develop in modular steps, with regular examinations charting the progress of the student. While students do not compete against each other in competitions, they are expected to train hard within their limits and to meet their own standards.

The Japanese martial art is widely practiced worldwide and has many styles. Jujitsu has a rich history and is a beneficial tool for self-defense. It also teaches important life lessons such as respect and discipline. Some schools teach several styles, but Jujitsu is the oldest.

Jujitsu was originally developed by samurai warriors, and its techniques date back hundreds of years. While some jujitsu techniques are ineffective for real-world situations, others have been adapted for use in the martial arts arena. In Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, for instance, the focus is more on grappling and submission than on a specific opponent's weaknesses.
Eskrima is a boxing style

The Filipinos were the first to practice Eskrima. At that time, it was a violent, attacking style, similar to assassination. However, Spanish forces forced Eskrima into hiding, and it survived by masquerading as a stage play. With time, Eskrima was rediscovered and was even used during the world wars. Today, grandmasters are still teaching the art to new generations.

In addition to its dynamic and effective fighting style, Eskrima students also learn to fight with weapons. They typically use a wooden knife and a pair of sticks. However, there are also a variety of empty-handed techniques, such as joint locks, throws, and grappling.

The Filipino Eskrima is known by various names, including arnis and kali, and it has many variations. The name 'Eskrima' originates from Spanish, which means 'fencing'. In fact, the word 'Eskrima' is related to the English word'skirmish'.
Muay Thai is a Chinese martial art

Muay Thai, or "the art of the eight limbs," is a Chinese martial art that teaches the use of eight different points of contact to defeat your opponent. Its techniques are inspired by ancient weapons of war, like the sword and dagger. In muay thai, the hands and elbows serve as weapons, and the shins and forearms harden into armor. The leg and knee become axes and staffs, and the elbow strikes opponents like a heavy mace. Despite its ancient origins, it is still an exciting sport today, and the King of Thailand is a big fan of the art.

Muay Thai was developed in Thailand hundreds of years ago, when most major tribes began migrating through China, Burma, and Vietnam. Later, they settled in central Thailand, where they faced off against other tribes. As they fought for survival, Muay Thai evolved into a highly effective martial art.
Kickboxing

Kickboxing is a form of martial arts that uses hand movements to block and deflect incoming strikes. The kickboxer uses his or her hands to shield his or her chin and head and also rotates his or her hips to block body shots. He or she also uses the front of his or her fist as a protective guard against attacks from below. In some forms, the kickboxer uses a full-contact stance to prevent body shots.

The striking techniques in kickboxing include jabs, hooks, cross kicks, front kick, and roundhouse. Most kicks are offensive, but there are some defensive kicks as well, such as the push kick. These kicks are usually aimed at the ribs, arms, neck, and legs, though groin kicks are illegal in most fighting sports.

Kickboxing was born in the 1950s in Japan. It was developed by two men, Osamu Noguchi and Tatsuo Yamada, who both were karate experts. Both wanted to establish a full-contact form of the sport. In 1959, they wrote provisional rules for the sport. The first kickboxing match was held in Osaka, Japan. The sport quickly became popular in Japan.
