Minecraft convention company is sorry about Peterborough's protest-stricken event

Organisers of a convention for the computer game Minecraft have said they are "truly truly sorry" after angry parents criticized the game on social media.

But dozens of people reported that they waited for hours to meet famous players and have demanded refunds.
O'Brien Event Management said a new system to reduce queues would be introduced in the future.
The informal convention, which was not endorsed by Minecraft-developer Mojang, gave fans the opportunity to meet famous "Youtubers" as well as take pictures and play games.
Lisa O'Brien, at O'Brien Event Management, had previously said to the BBC that the lines were 45 minutes too long due to the large number of people who turned at the venue instead of purchasing tickets in advance.
A further statement released on the company's website said: "We are truly genuinely regretful that our event didn't meet some people's expectations.
"MineVention is primarily a 'meet and greet' type event, so this does mean queuing but on the bright aspect, it gives kids the special chance to meet their heroes.
"We have taken all of your comments about the event into consideration and, moving forward we will be putting in a new queuing system and much more content."
The company also issued an official statement from Peterborough Arena, which was responsible for catering, and again blamed the "sheer quantity" of people who came through the door on the day for the long lines.
Both parties said they would follow up with any parents who contacted them disgruntled.
Refunds have not been discussed, but some parents claimed they received the following day after complaining to the staff.
Online ticketing company YPlan stated that it was "actively looking for information on the event's organizer to understand its position on refunds and will seek compensation for all customers who were unhappy about this event."
