This course is suitbale for all employees, where those employees are involved in manual handling. Section 10, of the Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, states all employers are required to provide health and safety training to their employees. If you are required to carry out lifting activities at work, and where manual handling is likely to result in injury particularly to your back, as a result of the characteristics of the load, the working environment or the ergonomics. This training must be relevant to the tasks you carry out and must cover law, anatomy, injury, risk assessment and practical lifting.
A manual handling course is essential to employees who perform pushing, pulling, lifting and a variety of other daily physical tasks. Aims of the Course This course is aimed at providing an understanding of the role of the project supervisor for the design process appointed under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Regulations.
Depending on the industry you are in, NGS has the solution for you. In a recent case, which was highlighted in the media, it stated how important it is that training takes place and that there is a record of same. The case also highlighted that the exercise which was carried out, was not remotely comparable to the lifting exercise which the employee may have to do in the course of work duties. Therefore, it is important that all staff record their attendance for the training and if possible, to conduct the practical assessment on site – being able to use similar items which employees would be required to lift/move/carry etc.
Our online/virtual Manual Handling course is run live with our trainers. Another benefit of our course is that, unlike many online courses, it is FULLY COMPLIANT with HSA regulations regarding certification. Our course includes both a theory and practical element which is the requirement and this carried out by our trainers. We pride ourselves on providing successful solutions to all our customers. It was important that the team understood the training for both Manual Handling and Fire Safety. Historically, Tramex opted for traditional training which was not only costly but also did not provide the access to ongoing awareness that employees greatly benefit from. In Ireland, the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 sets out the main provisions for securing and improving the safety, health and welfare of people at work. The law applies to all places of work regardless of how many workers are employed and includes the self-employed. His Manual Handling Course explains to your employees how to conduct all manual handling activities in a manner that will prevent injury.
Manual materials handling training is required under Regulation 13 of the and 1993 Manual Handling Regulations. This training programme is aimed at providing all persons at work with proper techniques when lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, moving, supporting and placing a load at its final destination. It provides employees with information handouts and practical instruction in safer Manual Handling Techniques. In accordance with Irish legislation a practical assessment must be completed by the trainee on successful completion of manual handling training. This is to ensure that the trainee has understood and put safe manual handling into practice. One of the key responsibilities of all employers is to ensure that they provide their employees with appropriate information, instruction and training. In order for training to be effective it must involve the participants, and be readily applicable to their workplace.
first aid solutions
Many of the problems that cause back pain are the result of injury and damage to a disc. Bending over results in pressure on the discs, and may also cause a disc to bulge backward towards the spine. Twisting and bending together put the greatest stress on the spine, especially on the discs, and are examples of work conditions that increase the risk of back injury. Ultimately First Aid Direct training is quick, effective and low cost, making the ‘better safe than sorry’ approach an easy choice. The Manual Handling training course is suitable for any person whose work puts them at risk of Musculoskeletal Disorders which affects the back, neck, shoulders and upper limbs.
