The world's Minecraft players log hundreds of hours playing Minecraft every day, but they don't play in China. Today, Minecraft developer Mojang announced it's creating a whole new version of the game designed specifically for Chinese consumers. Every Little Helps This development was made possible by NetEase, an Chinese internet company. NetEase operates games such as Hearthstone and World of Warcraft in China.
There's no release date for the game as of yet, and no further details on what kind of alterations to the game's main features are necessary for the Chinese market. What we do know is the Chinese version will only be available on mobile and PC devices not consoles when it finally comes out.
"We are thrilled to bring Minecraft to Chinese gamers, and we anticipate our large online community to embrace the game's renown," William Ding, CEO and co-founder of NetEase, Inc. announced. "With our in-depth knowledge of the Chinese market and our capacity to successfully launch world-renowned games on mobile and online we provide a robust platform for the introduction of Minecraft to China's vast player base."
