Microsoft's online gaming service Xbox Live has suffered a major crash leaving users unable to connect.
Many gamers had issues when trying to sign in to the service that allows them to play multiplayer online, as well as to purchase and download games.
The company stated that it was working on a solution to the problem, but was unable to confirm when it would be back.
Thousands of gamers reported problems when trying to log in to the service that allows them to play multiplayer online and to buy and download titles.
'Our engineers and developers are continuing to work to resolve the issue that has caused some members to experience difficulties connecting to Xbox Live,' it said.
"Keep on top of things and thank you for your patience."

The issue was disclosed by the firm in a series tweets. However, the company stated that it is still 'investigating' the issue.
The Xbox maker has announced plans to acquire live-streaming service Beam founded in Seattle. Beam is a company created by 18-year-old Matt Salsamendi.
The teen who founded his company in January claims it has already reached 100,000 customers.
It allows users to influence and interact with the video game that is streamed unlike other streaming platforms.
Beam lets viewers suggest challenges for streamers and can even alter game elements like weapon loadouts and the quest selection.

Developers can also design buttons that allow viewers to interact with the games streamed on Beam.
"We at Xbox are thrilled about this convergence of playing and watching, and want to provide gamers with the option to have great multiplayer experiences across all Beam's platforms and devices,' Chad Gibson, a program manager for the partner group at Microsoft's Xbox Live division, said in an announcement.
This acquisition will allow gamers to play the games they want and with the people they wantto play with, and on the devices they prefer.'
The terms of the deal was made public.
He also explained how the system could work with Minecraft.
'Using 'Minecraft' as one example With Beam you don't only watch your favorite streamers play, but you also play with them.
