-calling harley "n" instead of "harley" during first part of transition
-making them choose between an elevator pass for knee issues and an adhd diagosis
-holding them responsible for everything that happens w brothers, holds to an unrealistic standard compared to siblings
-restricting food outside of mealtimes
-not letting harley have alternative vegetarian food options
-going through phone + diaries, no privacy
-takes away devices constantly, without warning, sometimes for no offense
-controlling and micromanaging over every action harley does
-harley and daniel don't have any privacy when together, not allowed to kiss or be alone at all (privacy is a 'privelege')
-parents went to brother's football games instead of any marching band games (multiple times)
-mom constantly reminds about cost of therapy + when it does happen, doesn't let harley be alone and fully honest
-pressures into activities that negatively impact mental health due to large amounts of stress
-parents mostly ignore any and all mental struggles w/ anxiety, possible ocd, depression, and adhd
-very racist when talking about daniel, "he's very... ethnic"
-grounded for extended periods of time over small offenses + extensive punishments
-not allowed to have phone in room, period
-taking away meals as punishment
-no respect or trust from parents to child
-"i'm your dad, so i can do whatever i want"
-a lot of ignored instances of bullying + trauma from early education going into 8th grade
-parents threaten with taking away phone or letting harley see friends outside of school, then justify it as "helping harley focus"
-not allowing harley to use strategies that would accomodate for adhd (like moving somewhere quiet, listening to music, allowing fidgets) and calls it "not threatening, just helping you make sure you're focusing and staying on task"
-joked about making harley wear a shock collar to make them focus
-mom tells harley about how they are manipulative all of the time
-when harley attempted to confide in mom about suicidal thoughts, mom said that harley was manipulating her into lighter punishments and not doing hw
-dad left harley at school after waiting for 2 mins + not telling harley he was there; the same afternoon waited 10 minutes for younger brother to come out from school late
-will tell harley to reach out if they need help; but when they do reach out, parents say harley is being "manipulative" and lying about symptoms
-has taken away bedroom door, lights, blankets, and books as punishment
-has not listened to doctors or therapists when they tell parents that harley needs help
-has created a situation within harley's home that is toxic and promotes bad situations for harley to be in, to the point where they are lying about activities to stay at school (namely, away from home)
