To install the OptiFine Mod for Minecraft as an independent configuration (without Minecraft Forge), make sure you're running the most recent version of Minecraft and update to the most recent version if you don't. my games Next launch the Minecraft Launcher, click the Launch Options tab, and click Latest Release. Double-click the downloaded file (which ends in .jar) to run the OptiFine installer. Press Control + V (PC) or Command + V (Mac) to copy the correct installer directory into the "Folder" field. Then click Install and wait for the installation process to complete. Click on the OptiFine installer and click on PLAY. If you're planning to install the OptiFine mod for Minecraft and you're running the Minecraft Forge mod already, the process will be slightly different. First, make sure that you have the most current Minecraft version installed. If you don't, you can update to the most recent version. Next, open your web browser and navigate to the official download page for OptiFine: https://optifine.net/downloads.php. Click the Download link and select Save or OK to start the download. Wait a few seconds until it is completed. Then, open your Minecraft mods folder. Copy the OptiFine.jar file you downloaded by pressing Control + C on a Mac or PC. Right-click (or Control + Click) an empty area within the mods directory, and then select Paste. Now OptiFine will work with Minecraft Forge.
