Children to design new national park in Minecraft
Students in Adelaide, Australia, have been invited to design an Australian national park using Minecraft which could then be constructed in real life.
Students aged between nine and 12 have been challenged to design their own designs in the 3D world of blocks.
The results could be used in improvements to existing national parks around Adelaide.

The government has set aside $10.4m Australian dollars (PS5.4m) for the changes.
It was determined to find a fresh way to involve young people in its activities.
"This contest is part of a community engagement initiative asking people of all ages about what kind of facilities would encourage them to spend more time in national parks," reads the Natural Resources, Adelaide website, which announced the award.
"The State government has set aside $10.4m for parks projects, so some of the ideas you and your class comes up with could be used."
The only rule is that "whatever you design needs to be able to be created in the real world", it added.
"The park's features should be a part of the natural surroundings and take into account the animals and plants that reside there."
It suggested that ideas could include trails for bushwalking or mountain biking, barbecue areas, horse riding, picnic areas, or something completely new."
Redesigning slums
There is a growing trend to create ever more ambitious designs in Minecraft.
As part of an educational program as part of an educational project, the Danish government has been mapping the entire country.
Mojang the creators and developers of Minecraft joined forces with the UN in 2012 to assist create cities in the developing world.
They created public spaces and shared them with community groups. They could then design them by the participants. them.
The project has generated new ideas for green space in Kiberia, the largest slum in Nairobi and the tool was also used to design a brand new waterfront in Les Cayes, Haiti's third largest city.
The Adelaide competition closes 12 June and the winner will be announced one month later.
The winners will receive an official trip to the Belair National Park.
