Patch 4.1 Introduces Guild Finder Feature.

Accessibility is the main game's theme in Cataclysm. Blizzard's next effort to make guild access more accessible is patch 4.1. The interface for guild finders allows guild members to post recruitment messages to the realm's general public.



The new feature for guild finders is available to the leaders of established guilds and guildless players which makes communication between potential recruits and leaders easier. The interface for the guild finder will only display guilds that are actively seeking new members via the finder. Guild members who are not members have the option to look through the ads for recruitment. Guild leaders can choose their playstyles, content interests and availability of members and a comment section to discuss specifics. For the full announcement, click the jump.



Patch 4.1: Guild Finder



In patch 4.1 we'll introduce the Guild Finder which is a brand new system that is designed to facilitate quicker and more efficient guild recruitment. The Guild Finder will permit guild leaders and players to locate a guild they can call their home. This will allow players to establish connections which can be the basis for a successful membership.



The Guild Finder is a game-specific bulletin board that lists active guilds. Your options were restricted in World of Warcraft. You had to publicly post on your forum's message board, or speak to other players in direct private messages or the chat channels. This can be a time-consuming process. Guild Finder will let your "looking for new members" message to run 24 hours a day accessible to all the players in your faction, from anywhere in the game.



A brand new Guild Finder button will now appear on your Micro Menu if you're either a guild leader or not a guild member.



You'll need to mention the guild's common interests (such PvP, Raids, or Role Playing) as well as the day of the week that you are available (Weekdaysor Weekends) and the class roles you're looking for in new members (Tank Healer, Damage). The Comment field is where you can say anything you like about your guild and/or the sort of members you seek. Do you only allow female orcs? Are you noticing that your guild is slowly moving from raiding with 10 players to 25 players? Perhaps you'll only accept new members if they're available to play on Thursdays at 12 noon. This is the time for you to inform potential members that your guild is right for them.



The Guild Finder lets you browse through a list of every guild that is seeking new members from the viewpoint of an unguilded player. Start the Guild Finder, tell it about your availability, your class role, and the sorts of activities in your guild you're looking for and click "Browse Guilds." The second tab will bring you to a list with all the recruiting guilds that match your profile. Here you can read about them and, if you like what you see, submit a request to join.



Requests made to recruitment guilds are listed in the Requests tab. From this third tab, guild leaders are able to look at potential members and then take the final steps toward the new membership.



The Guild Finder is a great way to meet new friends regardless of whether you're a leader of a guild seeking new members or a member looking to find a guild that meets all your requirements.



This system is a major fan of mine personally. It can be difficult to join an account without a partner, especially if you have only a few WoW players. It is possible to team up with like-minded players to level up and play with as well as the reputation and experience bonus that are associated with guild leveling are a fantastic benefit.
