So properly organized and choreographed. Even the birds played their half. And the meals was most pleasant. I particularly enjoyed the relaxed environment. Literally top-of-the-line birding experiences of my life! Words can't do justice to the feeling of watching hundreds of seabirds glide effortlessly around the boat, living out their days in a half of the world most people won't ever have the privilege to take pleasure in.
I booked this Birdlife once-in-lifetime cruise to Marion Island 2 years ahead. Then with Covid lockdowns and so forth I never thought the journey would really take place. So once we lastly set sail, I was already blown away by the level of pre- group and essentially the most amazing dealing with of Covid protocols to enable this to go ahead. No “obstacle” was insurmountable for the organizers or the MSC workers. A fantastic expertise, plenty of birdsseen and some great talks. Thank you Birdlife and MSC for an amazing birding journey and the reminiscences to last a lifetime.
I am so glad I was fortunate enough to join this really special expertise with BirdLife South Africa, 2000kms out at sea with 1500+ fellow birders. Prince Edward Island was suddenly there! The mist curtain lifted and the albatross present began. Indelibly printed in my reminiscence. It was was higher than a prehistoric film and orchestrated with a shocking array of birds. I would be again in a flash and do all of it once more.
