Interdependence in Minecraft Modifications to Minecraft

Different blocks have different running/walking speeds, which encourages the creation of roads. Also, leather , and in particular, metal armor slows your movement speed and increase the amount of food you eat.

The majority of crafting recipes would remain the same, with some minor modifications like making wheat and seeds exactly the same, and the requirement of an oven for bread baking. There are two major changes to recipes for crafting Crafting supplies require XP and must have an acceptable measurement.

Crafting recipes that are low-end, such as wooden tools and basic foods are readily available. Other crafting recipes require XP costs the first time they are used. The more expensive recipes will require more XP.

This basic craft results in low-quality products. They perform worse than standardtools: they take longer to break blocks, weapons deal less damage, and food curbs hunger less. They also produce less XP. (More on that below.)

You can upgrade your skill with a specific recipe, which will result in more XP. This lets you create standard-quality items. These are like the items currently available in Minecraft.

Specialization

For a larger chunk of XP, you can choose one of the specializations that allow you to make high-quality items of a specific type and/or benefits in other ways. Only one specialization can be active at any point. This is so that players can specialize in particular tasks in multiplayer. From this specialization trade can be created and, subsequently more complex social structures are created. Instead of doing everything yourself you could choose to be a specialist in smithing and trade with a nearby player who is specifically focused on farming.

There are several possible specializations

- Miner increased mining speed. Woodworker: Making recipes for wooden items gives extra output. Warrior: Damage increases but less speed loss due to armour. Scout: Increased speed and falling damage speed, faster movement. - Farmer: Harvesting plants produces more food. Bonemeal more effective. - Cook: Crafted food reduces hunger and generates more XP. Fisherman rods are quicker and give better results. - Smith is able to create high-quality tools, armour, and other equipment. Butchering - Killing animals can be used to create additional items. Enchanter: Enchanting items lowers the cost of XP. - Wizard: Can duplicate magic books. Traders: Trading with villager could lead to better deals. (See also my post about better villagers and lower trading costs.

etc.

This is likely to be the most significant change, and it's my hobby horse. This is how you get XP. Instead of earning XP by killing stuff and mining the game, you earn it through doing different things:

Try a new kind of food, especially high-quality foods. - Kill a new type of enemy. Find a new kind of item, block mob, or mob. Utilize a new tool or wear a brand new garment, especially quality items.

This is the reason a lot of new content has been added to the site: lots more flowers and animals and food crops. There are also new kinds of items that can be used to decorate and gain XP. In particular, fossils and cloth-based clothing would be cool.

You'll need plenty of XP in order to unlock crafting abilities to improve your crafting skills, and finally choose a specialization. And you get that through these new experiences. These experiences have a trading value, which is great news! Food items have a higher value in XP than food that is generic. You can make a living as a scout collecting unusual plants and items and charging admission to view your latest collection. This can be a niche curators are able to place objects in frames to boost XP gain.

Intent

All of these proposed changes are of the same purpose: creating mechanics that encourage the creation of societies that are multiplayer. Interdependent societies using roads networks, trade, maybe even guilds banks, contracts, and so on.
