Minecraft star Stampy Cat to give an RSE Christmas speech

YouTube and Minecraft legend Stampy Cat will deliver a lecture to 2,000 Dundee schoolchildren.
Stampy, whose real name was Joseph Garrett, will deliver the Royal Society of Edinburgh's Christmas Lecture in Caird Hall on Monday.
The creator of the "Let's Play" videos for Minecraft and other games has more than 6.7m users on his YouTube channel.
The lecture will air exclusively on BBC iPlayer next Thursday.
BBC Scotland reported that Minecraft fans will get to see Stampy show how he makes his videos in a conversation with Chris van der Kuyl, Dundee games entrepreneur.
Stampy will share his story of what made his Christmas special and give an insight into his personal life.
Van der Kuyl said that Stampy was the "epitome digital native of the 21st century" who could inspire viewers regardless of age.

"Stampy is an inspiration to a whole new generation young people who clearly see that future jobs will be based on a unique combination of talents, creativity, technical and design abilities that can be utilized by everyone," he added.
The RSE lecture will be held as part of BBC Make it Digital, an initiative designed to promote digital creativity among young people.
