Minecraft's account migration to Microsoft is currently in progress, but some players aren't happy with. While Mojang claims that the move will improve security and will lead to more security features, some players with multiple accounts are being locked out - and the move is mandatory.

First announced last month, the switch is primarily security-focused. For example, you can use two-factor authentication once you've switched. Some players are upset because you will need to migrate your account to continue playing Minecraft after March 10.
Minecraft creator Docm77 describes the account migration as the "biggest error in the history of Minecraft" on Twitter. Reason being "If you have multiple accounts, you are forced to make an individual Microsoft account for each". This issue can lead to your Microsoft account being locked due to certain terms-of-service stipulations. While this isn't a problem that every Minecraft player is likely to confront, it is an issue for content creators as well as those who simply enjoy playing the game as they may require more Microsoft accounts. Looking to social media, there are a number of reports from players having issues making the jump.
There is no need to transfer your account just yet. Learn how you can do it here. In reality, it won't be a big deal for many players because of the huge popularity of Xbox Game Pass. Most of us have the Windows app installed, so it won't mean much to them that you can use it to launch Minecraft Launcher if they want.
