PlayNoEvil highlights an interesting blog entry on cheating in Runescape. The poster, who wishes to remain anonymous says he is a former Runescape cheater who has dedicated five years to the 'darker aspect' of the game. He stated, "This article details all of the intricacies and cheating in Runescape and what happens behind the scenes. I promise you that it will shock you."
The poster, identified only as ThirdEyeOpen, shows the way that cheaters and buyers operated as an organized crime ring. 'Welcome to the Dark Side' is his account of how he started his Runescape cheating career and how it ended. He recalls being interrogated online by Jagex Ltd. about the activities of his cheating career and how account suspensions caused him to have a desire to retaliate. His anger ultimately led to the creation of a group of like-minded teenagers who had accumulated real-world currency through Runescape activities before cashing out. It's an interesting readmaybe a little disturbing in the sense that he views cheating as a kind of game, but it's worth reading all the same.
