Nick Pope, Newcastle goalkeeper, has expressed his opinion on the craziness that Toon fans created after they hijacked an internet poll that saw England man first on Twitter.
Toon Polls, a Newcastle fan account, took part in to a Burger King online poll asking for opinions on gherkins and tomatoes.
The account jokingly replied to the tweet 'Nick Pope' and created a viral trend that saw companies like McDonalds, Easyjet and Amazon all tweeting the name of the Magpie's summer signing.
In an interview with Sky Sports, the 30-year-old revealed how he learned about the bizarre incident and how his phone went up with notifications.

"It was a bizarre situation to be in. I had to check my phone a few times and then pinch myself. The Magpies stopper said,
"I wondered: What's going on? What's happening? My phone didn't stop vibrating. It is not something I am familiar with, and it is not something that many people are.
"A couple of texts were saying, What's the matter? This is a bit alarming. it's all about games and game servers here It was continuous, I don't know how many. It was something I am not used to and was quite funny when I realized what was going on. Then, the boys began making fun of me.
When asked which of his new team members gave him the hardest time with his newfound fame, Pope said that the humiliation was a collective effort by the changing room.
Newcastle fans began the madness by responding a Burger King poll with Nick Pope.
Pope joined in the fun by tweeting his own name the trending number 10 in the world.
"They were able disperse it across the globe and spread it across the globe. Every time I turned the corner, there was someone else. If it was one of the other boys, I would do the same.'
Pope's name was in the top ten trending topic in the UK and ranked 10th worldwide. McDonalds offered a free breakfast to Toon Polls if the goalie could play clean against Brighton the next day. This was a gesture he made following Newcastle's draw without goals at The Amex Stadium.
The poll was a hit, but he wasn't alone. Arizona is home to UFO expert Nick Pope was also the recipient of the buzz generated by the the tweets and it was not the first time that Nick Pope's paths have crossed, as the Newcastle Nick Pope explained.

Pope has settled in at St James' Park quickly, pulling off a string of impressive performances in the first three Newcastle games.
It has led to calls for the Toon number one to be England's new first choice goalie, however, he faces competition from current owner of the jersey Jordan Pickford as well as Aaron Ramsdale and Dean Henderson.
