Overview
If you have multiple Xfinity X1 TV Boxes in your home, you most likely have a DVR and one or more non-DVR TV Boxes. This article explains the differences between these TV Boxes, including the XG1, XG2, XG3, XG4, RNG150N, XiD and other X1 equipment.
DVR vs. Non-DVR TV Boxes
There are a few key differences between the DVR and the non-DVR TV Boxes.
-All recording is done from the DVR.
-X1 DVR connects to the Comcast network to buffer live TV and access certain applications. As a
result:
The ability to pause and rewind live TV, recordings and Xfinity On Demand programs
varies by TV Box. Please see the feature comparison chart for more information.
Your X1 DVR can record approximately 150 total hours of HD programming on the hard
drive, and 150 hours of Cloud DVR storage per X1 DVR.
Access to certain applications also varies by TV Box. Please see Learn More About Our Paid
Xfinity
X1 and Xfinity Flex Apps and Learn More About Our Free Xfinity X1 and Flex Apps for
more information.
The remote can be radio frequency (RF)-paired with all devices except the RNG150N. For more details, see the instructions for pairing your remote with your TV Box.

Fourth-Generation Plan
See the full details about Xfinity Mobile's fourth-generation plan.
In Aug. 2022, we introduced Xfinity Mobile’s fourth-generation price plan. This price plan features new unlimited data pricing with multi-line savings for unlimited data based on the total number of lines on the account.
Customers on the fourth-generation plan continue to have access to 5G service at no added cost, with the savings and flexibility Xfinity Mobile offers.
All new Xfinity Mobile customers will be on the fourth-generation plan and cannot select the second- or third-generation plan.
Current customers as of Aug. 2022 can move from either the second- or third-generation plan.
Customers who move to the fourth-generation plan will have 30 days to return to their previous plan.
Third-Generation Plan

Second-Generation Plan
See the full details about Xfinity Mobile's second-generation plan
Plan Highlights
Customers can choose between Unlimited and By the Gig shared data options.
By the Gig shared data is available in three amounts (per month):
1GB
3GB
10GB
Customers can mix and match data options on their accounts, with some devices using the Unlimited data option, while others use the By the Gig data option.
Customers can switch their data option selections at any time.
Customers can select the Data Saver feature for By the Gig lines to help manage data use.
Customers on the third- and fourth-generation plans have access to 5G data, where available, at no extra cost for devices that are 5G-capable.
Customers can use their Xfinity Mobile devices as a personal hotspot.
Normal data rates apply when using an Xfinity Mobile device as a hotspot.
For customers on the third-generation plan only, the first 5GB of monthly data use is available at the maximum speeds available based on their location and device capabilities. This may include 5G speeds where available and on compatible devices.
For customers on the second- and fourth-generation plans, maximum personal hotspot speeds are determined based on their data options and device capabilities.
As of Aug. 22, 2022, customers on all price plans will be charged a one-time $10 line set-up fee for each new line they activate. After a line has been activated, there is no set-up fee to upgrade (change) the device on the line. However, if a customer cancels a line and then adds a line back on their account, they will be charged another $10 line set-up fee.
Customers will have data speeds reduced after 20GB of usage per line, per month. Please note that at this time, C-Band spectrum and Ultra Wideband data use do not contribute towards this 20GB data usage threshold.
Equipment Requirements
Customers can bring certain Apple iPhone, Samsung Galaxy and Note, Google Pixel and Apple Watch models from other wireless carriers to Xfinity Mobile. Otherwise, a new device needs to be purchased from Xfinity Mobile for each line of service.
Device Payment Plans (DPPs) may be available for mobile devices, based on the customer's eligibility.
Taxes on the device are charged in full at the time of purchase, as well as the first DPP charge.
Accessories must be paid in full at the time of purchase.
To access 5G, customers will need a 5G-capable mobile device that is compatible with our 5G network, a 5G-enabled plan and to be located in a 5G coverage area.
Eligibility
The account holder must live within the Comcast footprint to qualify for Xfinity Mobile but Xfinity Mobile service also works outside of the Comcast footprint.* Customer eligibility is determined during purchasing according to several criteria related to Comcast services:
Must be an active post-pay Xfinity Internet service residential subscriber or have a pending order for Comcast post-pay Xfinity Internet residential service.
Customers who subscribe to Internet Essentials or part of Internet Essentials Partnership Program (IEPP) qualify for Xfinity Mobile as long as they meet other eligibility criteria.
Returning Xfinity Mobile customers must have Xfinity Internet service installed and actively working before ordering Xfinity Mobile.
Must be the account holder, primary user or manager on an account with Xfinity services.
An authorized user or manager must be able to verify the Social Security Number (SSN) and date of birth of the account holder.
Only the account holder may authorize a credit screening.
Must have an Xfinity Internet account in good standing with no past-due balance.
Note: Customers who have a past-due balance can pay the balance in full to become eligible for Xfinity Mobile.
Must be at least 18 years old.
If an Xfinity Mobile customer no longer maintains a subscription to postpaid Xfinity Internet, Voice or TV and continues to subscribe to Xfinity Mobile service, each Xfinity Mobile line on the account incurs a $25 monthly line access fee in addition to the customer’s other service charges.
For more details, see What happens if I cancel my Xfinity Internet, Xfinity Voice or Xfinity TV services?
There is no tenure requirement; a customer may sign up for Xfinity Mobile on the same day they order Xfinity Internet service.
*Select areas may be unsupported by Xfinity Mobile's network partner.
Address Verification
All Xfinity Mobile orders must be shipped to the customer's Xfinity Internet service address.
Pending Wireline Order Eligibility
New Xfinity wireline customers who have a pending service installation that includes postpaid Xfinity Internet are eligible to sign up for Xfinity Mobile.
Prior to wireline installation (including Xfinity Internet), customers may be eligible for up to two lines of service.
Pre-orders/back-orders count towards the two-line limit.
Devices can only be shipped to the pending service install address – no exceptions (address changes must be completed through Comcast wireline support).
Customers are subject to other account limitations in accordance with Xfinity Mobile policy.
If the pending order is canceled and the customer does not have any post-paid Xfinity wireline services, this will be identified through a nightly reconciliation to treat the customer as a standalone Xfinity Mobile customer and charge applicable line fees.
FAQs

You can view the coverage map for Xfinity Mobile at xfinity.com/mobile.
Can Xfinity Voice customers port their phone number to Xfinity Mobile?
