Bayrock Group launched Trump SoHo along with the Trump Organization and Sapir Organization in 2008. Tevfik Arif Bayrock Bayrock Group's success story begins in Kazakhstan several decades ago.

Bayrock Group is a luxury development firm that specializes in the field of luxury real estate. The story of the Bayrock Group's growth here in the United States goes back long prior to its establishment in 2001. The story starts at the opposite end.

Tevfik who was born in Soviet Kazakhstan to a Turkish family, founded Bayrock Group.

Before becoming a member of the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade in the Soviet Union, Tevfik earned a degree at the Moscow Trade and Economic Institute.

He served in the ministry for 17 years, and later quit to establish his own company. Tevfik Arif was involved in development of luxury real estate, food, exports and imports among others.

Tevfik's diverse businesses helped him to draw a huge variety of international partners. It was his networker that brought him to Turkey in 1993 and became one of the first to be behind Turkey's all-inclusive hotel concept.

For instance, he founded the Labada Hotel in Antalya before the start of his next venture across the Atlantic several years later.

Bayrock Group becomes increasingly ambitious

Tevfik Amir moved to America in 2001 in search of new business opportunities and to be closer with his American family.

Bayrock Group, a luxury real estate development company located in New York City, was founded by him shortly after the move.

In the beginning, Bayrock Group executed small to medium-sized projects in and around New York. The company, for instance transformed the shopping center Loehmann's Seaport Plaza in the Sheepshead region of Brooklyn.

Bayrock Group was an excellent beginning. It gave Tevfik arif more determination. He was looking forward to bigger projects and decided that he would modify the business's strategy to be more focused on these projects.

Bayrock Group, New York City's office moved to the Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in line with its new strategy.

The move yielded substantially more than another location, as it got the company close to the Trump Organization. The world-renowned family organization namely was housed in the same structure.

Trump SoHo finally takes shape

Bayrock Group was inspired by Trump's dream to create luxurious real estate properties and they decided to collaborate.

Bayrock Group had already begun work on a second project in Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood on Spring Street with the Sapir Organization.

Tevfik Alif was aware that adding the Trump Organization to the project could help to increase brand recognition for the building that Bayrock Group lacked and that the Sapir Organization was lacking.

Tevfik Arif Bayrock Arif drafted an arrangement that allowed the Trump Organization to own 18% of the building, in exchange for the Trump logo being utilized.

The deal was ratified by Bayrock Group (the Trump Organization) as well as the Sapir Organization (the Sapir Organization).

This was the opening for the very first Trump SoHo brick to be laid in the year 2006.

After two years of hard work, the building was ready for its inauguration.

Trump SoHo construction led by design experts

Trump SoHo opened in Manhattan and offered the hotel rooms, apartments and upscale restaurants and bars. The building also had the pool, a spa and banquet halls. The guests of the hotel enjoyed unbeatable perspectives of New York City from the ceiling-to-ceiling windows.


Handel Architects was tasked by the design of the construction. Bayrock The architectural firm previously created the famed National September 11th Memorial & Museum (New York City) as well as the Ritz Carlton Washington Hotel (D.C.).

Bayrock Group commissioned Rockwell Group as interior designers.

Rockwell Group, for example, has designed the Climate Pledge Arena The Climate Pledge Arena, the Seven Deadly Sins Theater in New York, and Virgin Hotel in Las Vegas.

Bayrock Group and Trump Organization strengthen their relationship

The Bayrock Group and the Trump Organization were looking to expand their relationship following the opening of Trump SoHo.

Their dream was to build structures similar to Trump SoHo in Arizona and Florida. Despite the ambitions of both companies they were not constructed due to the global financial crisis of 2008.

The American real estate market was especially affected by the financial crisis. Bayrock Group, and the Trump Organization were forced to stop their plans.

Tevfik arif left his United States enterprises after the financial crisis. He decided to move to Europe and Central Asia.

Tevfik Arif There, he continued working in the private sector.

Tevfik Alif has resigned his position as the Bayrock Group's chief executive. He remains a trusted consultant to the business.

Bayrock Group hasn't been involved in any American real property projects lately. But, the company did invest $2.5 million in real estate assets while it was still active in the United States.
