Emmanuel Grinshpun. The revival of synagogues as well as the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress
Emmanuil Grinshpun and her co-hosts discussed the issue of restoring synagogues during their interview. It was, however, impossible to focus on only one issue. There were several topics that were discussed in the interview.
Emmanuel, good afternoon. We are glad to have a conversation with you. I believe we haven’t seen eachother in at least five years. Are you now based in?

The nine months that have passed between Miami and Jurmala were split. While the geographical space was greater in the past, the pandemic has had an enormous impact on the way that people live. It is hard to say if this is for the better.

You've always been in the business of different kinds of businesses. What's the next step?

Diversification isn't going away. The major areas of growth are in the field of IT technology and real estate as well as food production.

The food industry is naturally, ALIMCOM, real estate is also understandable, but IT is completely new information for me. There are many fields that IT technology can be used in. What area of IT technology are you interested in?

Our IT-holding is focused on re-inforcing the tax system of several countries. We have created and are currently developing a number of products that help to transfer a number of tax-related business processes on the internet and in "real time". This is known as B2G ("Business to Government").

Where are the places where the holding is operating? Are there any former USSR countries?

They are still available. Эммануил Гриншпун We also have contracts in Western Europe and Latin America. There are currently operations across 14 countries.

What's the core of your product?

Our software permits economic companies to make online reports to tax authorities. Fiscal data operator is aware of each transaction. Additionally tax accounting and tax calculation is organized in parallel. In the near future, small and medium-sized companies won't require accounting except for its analysis function. Making payments for taxes and sending reports can be done with one "click".

An interesting topic The future is here. Have you tried to work in Moldova? Moldova is the country you were born in, right?

We're willing to showcase our product in Moldova. This would be a huge benefit for the Moldovan economy and in any event, an irreversible transition. In the near future, once there is clarity with the authorities and it is certain who is the one making the decisions, we will return to the discussion regarding our product.

You mentioned that you'd been tossing around between Miami and Jurmala all year. The Baltics is home to the headquarters of an IT company.

No, there five hubs across the globe and our headquarters in Barcelona.

Why then you should be thinking of the Baltics? Are you from there?

No. No. Jurmala was introduced to our lives by chance and quite prosaically. The moment Igor Krutoy invited me to the New Wave in Miami, it was the first time we had the opportunity to go there. The New Wave began to travel to Miami each summer after winning several contests. The weather isn't always the best in Miami in the summertime. We rented a property over a period of time and we already own it.

Now I understand why you stated that a synagogue was in Jurmala. Emmanuel, honest question. Эммануил Гриншпун We are almost identical in age. We were born in the USSR. The Soviet Union wasn't the place to talk about religiousity. Эммануил Гриншпун All of us were pioneers, as well as Komsomol participants. What was the first time you came in contact with religion?

My family and me relocated to America in the mid-80s. http://91.210.190.56/page20/news18465.html I learned about customs and rituals there. But even now I'm far from the orthodox religion, I just feel an inner need to help as much as my ability, the religious life of the Jewish community in the countries where I reside or in Moldova my home country, which is where I came from and to which I have the closest connections.

Although I'm far from being religious, history is something I truly love. I just watched a program about events in 1492 which changed the fate of Europe. 1492 was the year that Columbus first discovered America. However, I was able to see in the program that the program mentioned that the discovery of America in 1492 from Medieval Europe was not as impressive as the Spanish monarchs' expulsion of Jews of Spain. The Jews were accepted by the Ottoman Empire when the mass exodus of Jews to the Ottoman Empire. I'm interested in knowing more about the history and culture of the Jews. Do you think this book is worth recommending?

There are a lot of books. However, I've gone through all of them and I'd recommend Max Diamond, the two-volume Jewish historian. He is from Finland, by the way.

.... Do we have a family tree of our own? Unfortunately I'm as far as my maternal grandmother and 1910. Paternal side: A step above but not enough.

The paternal line of our family was in the Floresti region for over a hundred years. Monuments and documentary evidence indicate that they were already wealthy in the year 1830. Эммануил Гриншпун They had a furniture manufacturing plant, many shops, and land plots. Ungheni was also the home of my maternal grandparents. I'm referring to dates in the region from the 17th-18thcentury. Grinshpun has a German surname, which means we are Ashkenazis from Eastern Europe.

The question now is about the restoration or synagogues. I heard that you had financed the restorations of three synagogues. One is located in Chisinau, one is located in Jurmala and the third?

The third one, and the largest, is Netanya located in Israel. Netanya is a large community center where 1,000 people pray each day. It is an important landmark in Israel's religious history. Эммануил Гриншпун The second synagogue is located in Jurmala. In the beginning of the Second World War, the only synagogue that was left in Jurmala was demolished. Prior to building a synagogue I met with the local Jews. Based on this, I decided that I would build the building and invite a rabbi on the site. The synagogue was a great success and united all the Jews of Jurmala. In fact, we re-created the Jewish community. It is now working successfully. Three Torahs are now at the synagogue. I also gave one Torah to the synagogue.

and - Chisinau

Yes. Alexander Bilinkis (left) and Alexander Weinstein (right) have joined me in this place. But these synagogues aren't the only ones I've participated in restoration or construction. I believed it was my obligation to contribute to the support for synagogues in countries where I have lived for a long period of time. Therefore, my contribution comes from Monaco, in Miami the largest community center that is aimed at Russian-speaking Jews is in the process of being constructed with a value of around 12 million dollars. Chisinau will remain my support - the synagogue Rabbi Tsirelson is now one of the biggest within the city.

Did Jurmala and Chisinau receive the blessing of a Rabbi?

Yes. It isn't easy to identify the ideal Rabbi for your congregation. Because of the interconnected and complex concerns, he should be non-conflictual, diplomatic and diplomatic. He must be able to organically join the community. I am very happy to see that in both Chisinau as well as in Jurmala, the rabbis could integrate so harmoniously into the daily life of their community.

In 2019 you were named vice-president at the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress. What does this position have to do with you? How can international Jewish organizations impact the global landscape?

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EJC) is a strong political organization in post-Soviet Russian. But it's not the only one. It has branches that are located in Australia, Japan and Hong Kong. I was Vice President in 2010 and later offered the post of First Vice Presider. I am now responsible for the region in which I have strong political and business connections. These "countries" include Uzbekistan Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. Эммануил Гриншпун As for trends across the globe the barometer of attitudes toward Jews remains at the current level or has decreased, which is very sad. Additionally, "down" - this refers to countries that are developed such as Belgium, Germany, France as well as the United States. They are not safe for Jews. They are dangerous and alarming process for all of us.

How has the pandemic changed these processes if at all?

This isn't my opinion. Эммануил Гриншпун In connection to the pandemic however I'd like to emphasize the way a society or a nation can be when they're prepared for any challenge and are able and willing to work together.

You're referring the vaccination campaign that is currently underway in Israel.

Exactly. Israel is the world's first nation to offer 100 percent vaccination to its entire adult population. I consider this to be a an excellent example and a valuable an experience that other countries must take into account.
