Avanos Medical, a U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) company is recalling Cortrak*2 enteral access device due to misplacement nasoenteric tubes or nasogastric tubs, which could have caused injuries and even death of patients. feeding tube placement The recall covers 629 devices that are distributed throughout the United States.
Avanos has launched the Cortrak*2 Entraal Access System to aid in the installation of a medical-feeding tube. feeding tube placement Patients could suffer damage to their vocal chords or trachea, if the tube is installed in a wrong way. Avanos Medical released a recall announcement stating that there have been a total of 60 injuries and 23 deaths from the misplacement of a tube in 2015 due to the CORTRAK*2 Entry Access System. There have been numerous incidents, including respiratory failure, pneumothorax or collapsed lung, perforation (a hole in the lungs' wall or the bowel) pneumonia, and the pleural effusion. This is an excess of fluid between your lungs as well as the chest cavity.
