Once the zone is identified you have to see what type of zone it is. A zone defense in football, like a zone defence in basketball, wants to keep the ball in front of the goal and in specific areas. But, sometimes, especially in high school programs, it can be almost impossible to get a spot in the starting line up. There could be four to five guys with the same skill level as you (or better) at your place. If you want to beat those guys out, you've got to stand out. You may have to do more than your current efforts.
