The training will provide participants with the knowledge and qualification to prevent injury at work, have effective communication with their colleagues and be more conscious of safety procedures in their organisation. In accordance with Irish legislation a practical assessment must be completed by the trainee on successful completion of manual handling training. This is to ensure that the trainee has understood and put safe manual handling into practice. The patient manual handling training course consists of two parts, first is the manual handling training course for inanimate objects and the second part of the course is the people moving training course. All instructors providing this training have to have successfully completed QQI manual handling and people moving instructor courses. We cover everything you need to know so you can gain your people handling certificate and meet the requirements of the Health and Safety regulations.
• The aim of the course is to reduce the risk of manual handling injuries in the workplace. Each participant will be assessed on their practical manual handling techniques. The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical training.

Manual handling training is an ideal course for any person involved in the movement of loads. If you are receiving medical attention or treatment or for some other reason you do not feel fit or comfortable to participate, please consult with the tutor before this course commences. This information will ensure that you will not be put in a position of being asked to do lifting techniques and task specific manual handling that you are not able to do. The course is a 3 day FETAC Level 5 Course which covers all the aspects of occupational first aid. Our first aid training will provide you with the practical skills to provide effective life support, diagnose and treat injuries. Be aware of the necessity for safe methods of manual handling to reduce the risk of injury from incorrect manual handling.
Upon successful completion of this course participants will receive an ASA Training Certificate in Manual Handling. The cost of our manual handling course is €65 per person but group discounts are available.

We provide participants with knowledge on the consequences of incorrect lifting techniques on the back and structure of the spine. By increasing awareness, we reduce the amount of injuries by insuring correct techniques are used. To comply with current Health and Safety legislation, staff must be given training in safe manual handling techniques. While Online manual handling training is an excellent tool and may be used as standalone training, there are still situations where an employee will require practical manual handling training. For example, workplace specific handling equipment or control measures identified after a local or in-house Manual Handling Risk Assessment, etc.
