Chapter 2 :Jax’s POV
I walk into class and Harlow stops me.
‘Late again, Mr Porter. Or should I say, Prince Jackson?’ She says sarcastically. ‘Do you really want detention with Madame Cleo that badly?’
I apologise and hurry to my seat. Gilly looks back at me and smiles sympathetically. I blush and smile back, causing Gilly to look at me strangely for the 50th or so time that week.
I lean back in my seat, sighing so loudly the entire class turns to look back at me.
‘Interrupting my class yet again, Mr Porter? My, my, you really want that detention, don’t you. That will be your second strike, if you get a third, you’ll be spending an hour with Madame Cleo.’
‘A warning for breathing? Where are we, a place where breathing’s restricted??’ Someone speaks up.
Gilly.
‘Miss Cobbler, would you like to repeat yourself?’ Harlow demands.
‘I think you heard me.’ Gilly glares.
‘Detention, Miss Cobbler.’ Harlow hisses.
Gilly shrugs. ‘Wasn’t expecting anything less from a breathing-hater.’
I snort. Harlow’s head snaps back, to look at me.
‘Mr Porter, I don’t see what’s funny.’
‘Oh, just my thief making fun of you in front of the entire class.’ Gilly burns bright red at the name I used.
‘Well, you and ‘your thief’ will now find yourselves in 2 hour detentions now.’ I silence myself, as to not get myself into any more trouble.
‘That’s what I thought. Now if its alright with the both of you, I would like to get back to teaching my class.’
‘Yes Professor.’ Gilly and I say in unison.

‘Urghhhhhh.’ I groan as I stomp into mine and Ollie’s dormitory at break.
I fall face first onto my bed and continue groaning and complaining loudly.
‘So… you gonna lay there groaning or actually tell me what’s happened?’ Ollie asks.
I sit up. ‘Gilly and I got a two hour detention with Madame Cleo.’ I say, looking annoyed.
‘Only a little into the first term, and already gotten into a detention with your crush?’ Ollie laughs.
‘Huh? Madame Cleo isn't my crush…?’
‘I’m talking about Gilly. C’mon, two hours of just you two dancing to the Firewaltz or whatever?’
‘Oh yeah… I guess that’s kinda a plus… and it’s called a Fire Step, dummie!’ I earn a slap across the head from Ollie.
