Bayrock Group: The Rise of a New York Real Estate Giant

Bayrock Group opened Trump SoHo along with the Trump Organization in 2008 and the Sapir Organization. Bayrock Group's successes began in Kazakhstan several decades before.

The Bayrock Group's growth as a prestigious real-estate development firm in the United States began long before 2001. The story begins on the other side.

Bayrock Group was founded by Tevfik Arif, who was brought into the world in Soviet Kazakhstan to a family of Turkish origin.

Before joining the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade, Tevfik Ariff earned an education from the Moscow Trade and Economic Institute in International Relations.

He served in the ministry for 17 years, and left to create a number of his own enterprises. Tevfik Arif was involved in development of luxury real estate, food, exports and imports among other.

Tevfik Arif has many companies that have helped him acquire a variety of partners across the globe. His connections prompted his decision to move to Turkey in 1993. He was instrumental in the creation of Turkey's renowned all-inclusive hotel concept.

He launched, for example, the Labada Hotel Antalya. Tevfik Arif Bayrock This was before he went on to his next venture that was a couple of years later, across the Atlantic.

Bayrock Group is becoming more ambitious

Tevfik Arif emigrated to the United States in 2001 to explore new opportunities in business and to be close to his American family.

Bayrock Group started with small-to medium-sized projects in New York. Bayrock Group, as an example revamped Loehmann's Seaport Plaza in Brooklyn's Sheepshead.

Bayrock Group was off on a strong beginning. Tevfik was more ambitious. He was keen to tackle larger projects, and which is why he made the decision to change the focus of the company towards that.

Bayrock Group moved its New York City office to Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue to coincide with the change in strategy.

The move was more effective than moving to another location as the company found itself in the vicinity of Trump Organization. This was the home of the family's world-renowned business.

Trump SoHo finally takes shape

Bayrock Group was inspired by Trump's plan to create high-end real estate properties and so they decided to work together.

Tevfik arif recognized that the Trump Organization would bring brand recognition to the building. This was something Bayrock Group, and the Sapir Organization had lacked.

Arif made an agreement in which he provided the Trump Organization 18% equity in the building in exchange in exchange for the Trump brand being used as its brand name.

Bayrock Group, the Trump Organization and the Sapir Organization all agreed to the deal.

This was the first phase of Trump SoHo's 2006 construction.

After two years of labor, the building was ready and waiting for its inauguration.

Trump SoHo was designed by design experts

Trump SoHo opened in Manhattan and offered the hotel rooms, apartments along with luxury restaurants and bars. The building also had the pool, spa and banquet halls. The building's floor-to ceiling windows allowed guests to enjoy unbeatable views of New York City.

Handel Architects was tasked to create the structure. The famous architecture firm also created the National September 11th Memorial & Museum, New York City and the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Washington D.C.

Bayrock Group commissioned Rockwell Group as interior designers.

Rockwell Group was responsible for the design of the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle as well as the Seven Deadly Sins theatre in New York.

International experience is also accessible from countries like Spain, Mexico, and Indonesia.

Bayrock Group and Trump Organization expand their partnership

After the grand opening of Trump SoHo, The Trump Organization sought to strengthen their partnership with the Bayrock Group.

Their goal was to construct structures similar to Trump SoHo in Arizona and Florida. Trump Organization also received 18% equity in building with the same license conditions. This could open the way to Trump being named in the building's name.

Despite their lofty goals, these structures were never constructed due to the global financial crisis of 2008.

Bayrock The American real estate market was especially affected by the recession. Bayrock Group, and the Trump Organization were forced to cancel their plans.

The financial crisis resulted in altering the American real market to such an degree that Tevfik Arif opted to end his United States undertakings. He decided to return to Europe and Central Asia.

He continued his work in the private sector.

Tevfik has announced his resignation from all his Bayrock Group daily responsibilities. But, he remains a trusted consultant to Bayrock Group.

Bayrock Group is not currently involved in American real estate projects. However, when the company was active, it invested real estate assets that were valued at $2.5 million in the United States.
