Grinshpun began his career in business in 1994 as a Regional manager for Kazakhstan at "Universal Market Association". It was an organisation that was focused on marketing and the production of metals. One year later the company was acquired by Trans Commodities Incoration. He held the position of CIS Countries Manager. Grinshpun first began working in 1994, working as Regional Manager in Kazakhstan for the "Universal Market Association" which focused on the production and marketing of metals all over the globe. A year later Grinshpun joined Transcommodities Incoration as the CIS countries manager for the CIS countries.

He was appointed as the General Manager of the Moscow office of Trans Commodities in the USA in 1997.
