Bayrock Group was already working on a different project on Spring Street in Manhattan's SoHo quarter in collaboration with the Sapir Organization.

Tevfik Arif was aware that the incorporation of the Trump Organization to that project will bring branding to the building which Bayrock Group and the Sapir Organization lacked.

Arif created an agreement giving the Trump Organization 18% equity in the building in exchange for the usage of the Trump brand in its name.

The proposed deal was accepted by the Bayrock Group, Trump Organization and the Sapir Organization.

That was the foundation for Trump SoHo's first brick to be laid in the year 2006.

After two years of construction, the building was ready for its inauguration.

Trump SoHo was constructed by design experts

Trump SoHo had apartments, hotel accommodations, luxury eateries/bars as well as a pool and banquet halls at the time it was opened. Hotel guests enjoyed unparalleled views of New York City through the ceiling-to-ceiling windows of the building.

Tevfik Anif decided to leave his American enterprises due to the financial crisis. He decided to relocate to Europe and Central Asia.

He was transferred to the private sector and continued to work.

Tevfik Alif has quit his post as Bayrock Group's chief executive. He is however a trusted consultant to the company.

Bayrock Group hasn't been involved in any American real estate developments in the last few months. But, the company has invested $2.5 million worth of real estate properties when it was still operating in the United States.
