5G technology provides (uRLLC= Ultra Reliable Low Latency Communication) features to transmit responses with very low latency which will help in industrial automation tasks. URLLC allows 5G networkperformance to approach that of wired networks (e.g., Ethernet) and paves the way for new use cases. applications of URLLC include industrial automation, autonomous driving, mission[1]critical applications, and remote medical assistance.
mMTC focus on providing connectivity to a large number of devices (IoTs), with 1 million devices/sqkm. Therefore, 5G network can support the service requirements needed by a smart city or smart factory which implies communication with a massive number of devices and machines simultaneously. (mMTC= massive Machine Type Communication)
One of the core features of 5G services is the enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB) which focuses on the high speed of end user data and system capacity. This will impact the end user experience by enabling different business uses.
5G ensures the stringent enterprise security requirement as it has designed in security controls to address many of the threats faced in other technologies. These controls include new mutual authentication capabilities, enhanced subscriber identity protection, and additional security mechanisms like256 bit encryption
5G offers shared and dedicated spectrum for enterprises, and so it is possible to deploy own network by enterprise itself.
5G provides both wide-area and local coverage with full mobility, while Wi-Fi for example, is limited to local coverage and more basic mobility.
5G Standalone allows having “network slicing” – the ability to create a virtualised network (or a slice) on the same physical infrastructure that can be dedicated towards a specific use case or service. The ability with 5G to slice and specify the network configuration easily will open new opportunities for vertical industries.
