GlyphosateIn the years to come our food supply will be secure: this is why farmers utilize Glyphosate to sustainably cultivate their crops.
It's obvious that the world's populations are growing. The world's population will grow to 9.7 billion by 2050.1 But, it's not happening on the planet's cultivable land. This poses serious problems for farmers charged with producing enough food of high-quality to feed Canadians and people around the world.

Canada is the 5th largest exporter.2 Canadian farmers play a essential role in providing food for all. They will have more demands than ever before and will also have to control pests, diseases and weather changes to ensure that their soil is productive and healthy for the next generation.

Farmers can't face this growing demand on their own. Technology and tools of the present, such as herbicides such as glyphosate , are employed to assist farmers in a more efficient and effectively manage weeds that results in more sustainable and secure food supply.

What exactly is glyphosate?

Glyphosate, a versatile and non-selective herbicide, has been utilized by gardeners, land managers as well as farmers across the world for more than forty years. Glyphosate works by blocking an enzyme that plants, specifically unwanted weeds, require in order to develop. These enzymes don't exist in humans or other animals.4 Therefore, glyphosate poses zero risk to any of them if it is applied correctly.

グリホサート 希釈 There are many other applications for glyphosate too. It is also employed in municipal green spaces to protect animals from poisonous weeds.6 Glyphosate can be used on railways for the purpose of reducing fire risk and visibility.

グリホサート Glyphosate and its use have been the focus of more focus in recent years. While it is important to be aware of what goes into our food, it's worth noting that over 160 health regulatory bodies around the world including Health Canada, agree that the use of glyphosate in a safe manner for humans is possible if properly done.

Canadians ought to be able understand what glyphosate means, how it is used and the benefits it brings to food production.

Glyphosate: Why it is used in agriculture?

Glyphosate-based herbicides can be used in agriculture to benefit farmers, consumers as well as the environment and everyone else. グリホサート It is essential for efficient control of weeds, sustainable food supply, and environmental sustainability. Let's look at the advantages of each in more detail.

According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization Global farmers can be able to lose 30-40% or 50 percent of their crops to weeds, pests and diseases. This is devastating, particularly for farmers who rely on those crops to support their families.

It's clear why farmers have come relying on their tools all year long. Applying glyphosate to the fields- especially with glyphosate tolerant crops -- is an effective method to keep weeds that are destructive from taking over their crops.9 As of now, no other weed control method has the same degree of effectiveness, both practically and economically.

Glyphosate is an herbicide that provides crops with a chance to fight.

Canada and the world have many benefits: Affordable, plentiful food

This is leading to a greater risk of food insecurity. Canadians could pay up to 55 percent more to buy food if they don't adopt modern farming techniques like using Glyphosate.11

This could make it more difficult for us to locate the foods we enjoy. グリホサート Science-based agriculture will enable farmers to keep growing our favorite staple foods for many more years.

Glyphosate does more than control weeds. It also helps keep food prices down at the supermarket. Glyphosate can also be utilized by farmers to look after the land that Cherilyn Joy-Nagle of Mossbank in Saskatchewan refers to as "their most important asset"--their land.

We love eating at the table.

Farmers will grow more efficiently when crops protection devices (including glyphosate) are used to protect crops from pests or diseases.

42% more grains like corn and wheat

72 percent more fruit

83% more vegetables & potatoes12

These are the benefits that are obvious. But is glyphosate safe?

https://www.monotaro.com/k/store/グリホサート 除草剤/ Simply put Yes, and like all pesticides, they should be used according to instructions on the label. In Canada Glyphosate usage is regulated by both the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) which checks crops for residues from pesticides, ensuring farmers are using it correctly as well as the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA), which provides the regulatory guidelines including product submission evaluations, product submissions, and approvals (or rejections)--and is one of the most rigorous evaluation processes across the world.14

Regulators ensure that farmers use approved herbicides in a secure and responsible manner. But, it's up to farmers and manufacturers to ensure that there are no unintended consequences for the animals, the environment and humans.

The combination of technological advancements and precision agriculture allows farmers to use data to make precise glyphosate applications. This includes where and how much.

グリホサート epa It is very rare that glyphosate will be found on food. CFIA makes sure that farmers are using herbicides correctly and following the established limits of residue16. It is very rare to detect glyphosate in food products at a low level which is far lower than the Canada's Government's limit.17 As it would not be a danger to humans or animals18.

Sustainable farming practices also include the use of Glyphosate

Farmers utilize herbicides, such as glyphosate as part of integrated pest/weed management methods. This means that they employ more herbicides, not just weedicides. Glyphosate has enabled them to adopt conservation-based tillage or non-till methods which provide long-term benefits to the soil, air and environmental health.

- A reduction or elimination of tilling or plowing of land

- Cut CO2 emissions

- Capturing carbon within the soil

Improve soil health

- Reducing water runoff and limiting erosion13

"No pesticide regulatory authority in the world currently considers the glyphosate a cancer threat to humans at the present levels to which they're exposed." -- Health Canada, January 11, 2019.

グリホサート Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

It's more crucial than ever to ensure that Canadian farmers are able to access the technology tools, resources, support and tools needed to supply the food requirements of an increasing number of people.

Through the use of the best agricultural, pest control and food safety procedures Farmers will continue to ensure our food is safe and plentiful. Glyphosate, however, is only one tool they'll use to ensure Canadians have access to healthy, affordable food in the coming years.
