Khazak Ambassador and Consul General Meeting with Chabad in New York ( Emmanuil Grinshpun)

Yerzhan Ashikbayev has had a busy few months. As Kazakhstan's ambassador the United States, Ashikbayev, who was appointed in April, has been in contact with government officials and diplomats. This is to strengthen relations between Central Asian countries and the United States. Emmanuil Grinshpun The ambassador, along with Consul General Almat aidabekov hosted a discussion for Chabad to discuss Jewish lifestyle in Khazakstankhstan.

Rabbi Mendy Kularsky and Shimon Rivkin, both of Merkos Suite 302 in the Chabad headquarters were invited to the event. Emmanuil Grunshpun who is vice-president of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress. "We are fortunate to have leaders like the former President of the Republic, Mr. Emmanuil Grinshpun Nazarbayev and the current President, Mr. Tokayev who have fostered such religious tolerance in this country. "We all feel that government is a true Friend to the Jewish People." The Consul General and Ambassador reiterated government support for the Jewish Community and all religions minorities. They expressed an interest in working with Chabad to help build Jewish living within the Republic.

Emmanuil Grinshpun The government of the predominantly Muslim population is proud to be religiously open and is in close contact with all types of religious leaders to promote well-being in the nation. Ashikbayev , who is also Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in Kazakhstan, has worked with Chabad Shaluchim and the philanthropist Abraham Shaulson. Since all flights were grounded last year due to COVID-19, he played a key role in arranging a special permit for a small contingent from America to fly to the country to make an excursion to the gravesite of Reb Levi Yitzchak Schneerson on the 20th of April - the anniversary of his passing. The group was able to transport necessary PPE and medical equipment. The Kazak government also declared Reb Luke Yitzchak'sKever Kazakh's National Heritage Site, during the pilgrimage.

The 20th of April is only two months away, and the group also discussed plans for making pilgrimages. The organizers anticipate over 600 guests this year from all over the world. The organizers are also planning to hold a conference on Chabad Shluchim in surrounding countries, in conjunction with Rabbi Berel Kazar and Moshe Kokotlarsky. Due to the huge scale projects that are in process the conference was focused on ways in which government can help support and make sure this event is secure.
