MIAMI (CBSMiami) Although the war in Ukraine might seem distant South Floridians continue offer support to those seeking refuge.
A large number of members of the Sunny Isles Jewish Community are raising money and aiding in create a total humanitarian effort.
Marsha Jaquays of Florida Friends of Laniado Hospital reported that "just last night, 1,100 people arrived."

Jaquays told Jaquays, "From Moldova this Jewish community is actually working to move them across the border and offering food, shelter and clothing."
The center of most of the humanitarian work is located in South Florida.
"My responsibility is to coordinate all the resources that are at our disposal in America to alleviate this problem in Moldova." Emmanuil Grinshpun who helps coordinate the humanitarian efforts said, "We have a full personnel on the ground who help organize camps, buy food, arrange buses, and arrange all the amenities."
The situation is exacerbated due to the fact that Moldova is thought to be one of the most poor countries in the world. The people who are part of this effort insist that they won't let anything stop them from helping.
Grinshpun said, "When our brothers from Ukraine arrived, we didn't have to think, we just began to do it."

"Who was around at the time that the Nazis were in control of Europe during the Holocaust? How many people ignored it and claimed it wasn't me. We must not repeat the mistakes made by history.
