Second Chance is a character created by the user NarrowYourEyes. He was created on March 6th 2022.

Overview
Second Change is a vengeful copy of the original Sonic's code, spawned into the world after the first Sonic went missing in a Sonic the Hedgehog ROM. Being driven nearly insane after being trapped at the end of Labyrinth Zone's first act for several months, he seeks revenge against Hedge, who he blames for his undoing, traveling across worlds and picking fights with Hedge's friends.

Biography
In certain Sonic 1 ports, the game will run checks to see if Sonic is still present on screen. If Sonic goes missing for one reason or another, a new Sonic will be brought in if it's absolutely confirmed that the first Sonic is actually gone. This was the case for a man named Polo, who watched Sonic fall through the ground in Labyrinth Zone and subsequently saw a copy of Sonic spawn at the start of that zone's first act. This Sonic seemed pretty excited to be able to play the role of the hero, even having slightly different idle animations to portray this. Sonic reached the last section of the act just fine, but once he reached the end of the road he was forbidden to pass. It turns out that the first Sonic has actually never disappeared, but was instead below the level, endlessly tumbling down into the dark depths of Labyrinth zone's void. The game performed checks for this first Sonic every so often, but it would take five months for this first hedgehog to be found and taken to Green Hill Zone.

As the first Sonic (who later became Hedge) was falling, the second Sonic was realizing the gravity of his situation. He was stuck there, unable to leave the humid temple hall that would become his prison for the next few months. As he stood there, he began to become visibly hopeless, trying to attack the invisible barrier that blocked his way and etching numbers in the walls with nearby pebbles. Eventually, hopelessness turned to madness, and Sonic allowed anger to overcome him. He collected a nearby ring and began to ponder the idea of immortality, lodging the ring into his stomach permanently in order to never die from an attack. He felt a twinge in the air once Hedge has resurfaced, brushing his hand past the invisible barrier. In a mad fit, Sonic threw a punch at the Act Clear sign, then proceeding to tear the entire sign out of the ground, leaving the zone.

Once the second Sonic (who will henceforth be referred to as Second Chance) has escaped Labyrinth Zone, he didn't even bother trying to clear the rest of the zones to stop Robotnik. He now had one goal in mind: Revenge. He set off on an endless hunt for Hedge, pledging his entire existence to making Hedge suffer as much as possible, seeing the green hedgehog as nothing but a plague upon the world and the reason he was never able to be a hero. Unable to file-hop like his counterpart could, he learned that he could use a ring as a portal to access other zones, eventually utilizing its power to visit other EXE universes. Coincidentally, Hedge was doing the same thing, so Second Chance continued his never ending journey to exterminate his target.

Abilities/Weakness
Abilities
Second Chance is virtually invincible as long as his ring is safely lodged into his stomach. Any attack he takes can be felt, sure, and Second Chance can feel pain, but nothing will actually kill him. This ring is also used to hop from world to world, being able to act as a fast-travel option, similar to the rings that Sonic uses in the movies.

He is also extremely agile and is quite the skilled fighter, using Sonic's signature speed to jump from wall to wall and land brutal hits with the swing of his signature weapon: his very own act clear sign. The angrier Second Chance becomes, the harder he'll swing. Second Chance can also fire a thin heat beam from the tip of the sign when a sufficient light source is present.







Weaknesses
Second Chance is extremely vulnerable if the ring is ever knocked out from him, as losing this ring means he dies in one hit. Sometimes he can get so caught up in his own anger that it will distract him from actually landing hits, though the terrain and surrounding structures he destroys can very well cause their own issues. He's also very vulnerable to being emotionally toyed with. Bringing up subjects of his trauma can seriously undo him, giving an opponent ample time to knock his ring out or, if they're evil enough, continue to torture Second Chance until his surrender.

Second Chance, like Hedge, is set to debut in NarrowYourEyes' EXE story, Downfall, which will be a youtube series similar to Needlem0use.
Second Chance's shortened name, 2CS, originates from his file type. 2CS in the files of the ROM he's from stands for "Secondary Character Save."
The reason that Second Chance is able to travel freely after Hedge resurfaced is that Hedge re-spawned back in Green Hill Zone, meaning that the virtual chain holding the two of them together snapped now that both hedgehogs weren't in the same zone anymore.
Second Chance is bisexual, but shows no effort to express himself romantically during the events of downfall.
Second Chance refuses to refer to Hedge by his name, only referring to him as "the victim" or "my target".
Second Chance does not possess a mouth. However, he is still able to eat and drink, simply absorbing food into where his mouth would normally be. He is extremely insecure of this and will turn away from others if he is eating.
Originally, Second Chance's weapon was simply a sign post with nothing at the end of it, effectively acting as a bow-staff.










For Fun / "Fanon"
Second Chance, in canon, doesn't see anyone that he talks to as friends, only referring to them as allies. However, in fanon, he is quite close with SwappyBlue's EXE, AGES. Their respect for one another comes from both of their strong desire for change.
Second Chance, in fanon, has been seen explicitly attacking other EXEs for simply being friends with Hedge. He considers his most worthy rival to be JesterFrogge's EXE, NormalCD.
Second Chance despises joke or silly EXEs, such as Sunky.MPEG, Sondick.sexe, and QR. His only exception is XSY, but that's only because AGES cares about XSY.
Despite Second Chance's cold exterior, he can feel positive emotions and even feel romantically. The one exe who has managed to crack open his hard shell was Curse, who Second Chance is now dating.
Second Chance has quite a sweet tooth, but hates to admit it.
