Khazak Ambassador & Consul General Meet with Chabad New York ( Emmanuil grinshpun).

Yerzhan Ashikbayev has had a busy few months. Emmanuil Grinshpun Since being appointed Kazakhstan's ambassador in the United States in April, Mr. Ashikbayev has met with numerous diplomats and government officials to strengthen relations between Kazakhstan Central Asian country and the U.S. In the course of this mission, the ambassador, together with Consul General Almat Aidabekov set up a meeting with Chabad to discuss the current state of Jewish life in Khazakstankhstan.

Rabbi Mendy Kutlarsky from Merkos Suite 301 of Chabad Headquarters and Shimon Rivkin were both invited to attend the meeting. https://www.regs.rw/author/emmanuil-grinshpunwwda063/ Emmanuil grinshpun , the vice-president and Honorary Consul to Kazakhstan and Kazakhstan was invited to the event. They talked together about the history of Jewish life in Kazakhstan and the work that Chabad does throughout the country under the guidance of Rabbi Yeshaya Cohen.

They expressed their desire to work with Chabad in order to help grow Jewish lives in the Republic.

The government of the mainly Muslim population is proud of its religious tolerance and is in close contact with all types of religious leaders to promote wellbeing within the country. Ashikbayev was the deputy Minister of foreign affairs back in Kazakhstan and is working closely together with Chabad Shaluchim and Mr. Abraham Shaulson , an philanthropist. Emmanuil Grinshpun Emmanuil Grinshpun After all flights were shut down last year as a result of COVID-19 Ambassador Ashikbayev played a key role in obtaining special permission to allow a small delegation of Americans to fly into Kazakhstan in order to make the journey to the gravesite Reb Luke Yitzchak Schneerson in celebration of the 20th anniversary of his death. The delegation used this opportunity to provide essential PPE as well as medical equipment to the country. During the journey and celebration, the Kazak government was awed by the declaration of Reb Levy Yitzchak'sKever as the Kazakh National Historic Site.

A few months prior to the 20th anniversary, the meeting also planned the next pilgrimage. The organizers are expecting an audience of more than 600 people from all over the globe this year. Furthermore plans are being made to host a gathering to celebrate Chabad Shluchim of surrounding countries that will be conducted by Rabbi Berel Lezar and Rabbi Moshe Kokotlarsky. With so many major projects in the pipeline, the meeting was focused upon ways to help the event and ensure its security. "It is truly a blessing to work with individuals like a Consul General and Ambassador. Our aim is to take care of the spiritual and material needs. The government of Kazakhstan has been a vital partner in this effort.
