How to Create Motivational Incentives For incentive Marketing
One of the most powerful ways to bring customers into your store is with incentive marketing. Everyone loves to be rewarded, particularly for something they're going to do anyways. Some marketers argue that reward marketing can have undesirable side effects. For example, if you reward people for making sales, you will end up with a salesperson that works really hard, takes his or her fair share of risks and is not properly compensated. Social media marketing rewards people on their social media sites for referrals which often results in nothing. Plus, the number of referrals you can receive is limited and is very dependent on your relationship with your downline and the type of referral you choose to make.

On the flip side, incentive marketing programs are great because they provide the company with one way to increase its customer loyalty and to create a new customer base. When you design your loyalty rewards programs, be sure you are giving out rewards that will encourage people to stay with your brand. If you offer some sort of merchandise or freebies, people are more likely to hang around. If they are able to get something of value out of doing something, they are more likely to remain loyal.

Think about examples of real incentive marketing programs. Companies like Amazon Prime have great rewards programs. For example, when you purchase amazon prime, Amazon will send you a $50 credit card discount when you make a purchase within a certain zip code. The only requirement is that you use the card within the United States. By being loyal to Amazon, you can increase the likelihood that you will make a purchase within the Amazon Prime region.

Another example is Kohls. Kohls offers members free trips whenever they make a purchase at any of their stores within the United States. Members can also receive gift cards for Kohls stores, gift certificates for restaurants, and so much more. Again, the key is increasing customers loyalty to a brand and then rewarding them for it. This creates a win-win situation for both Kohls and their members.

The reality is that most companies do not have the time or resources to create their own incentive marketing programs. Many companies simply do not have the budget to develop their own loyalty programs. However, by using the resources that they already have, companies can create effective marketing incentives that work for their business.

The above examples of incentive marketing are great for incentive marketing, but how do they tie in with other types of rewards programs? Most companies have a customer service rewards program. This is usually a reward for good customer service on the part of a customer. Motivation is critical here. If a company is rewarding a customer for helping resolve an issue, the customer service program is working. If a customer has purchased a particular item or service from the company, then the incentive marketing is working.

It's important to remember that there are many different motivation factors. Sometimes a bonus may be for achieving specific goals such as, increasing store credit, or achieving a specific sales number. Other times, the motivation is more general. It could be something like earning a percentage of the sale. All of these motivation factors are important and when combined, you can create incredible incentive marketing programs that really work for a brand.
