The term ugly food refers to food deemed unsafe for consumption due to its visually unappealing look, with blemishes and scars or deformities.
Thankfully, we have organisations such as Ugly Foods that focus on saving these ugly foods and selling and redistributing these foods.

Oil Village
Additionally, more often than not, we overlook wasting oil. Unfortunately, it is common for many hawker stalls and restaurants to waste oil. Oil Village is an organization that collects used cooking oil and recycles them into biodiesel oil and shampoo among other products.

Production Faults
Speaking of overlooking, have you ever seen your grocery stores and the array of food on them? Well, for every food on the shelf, there are 2 - 3 more food thrown away due to production faults. Many retailers sieve out these imperfect products before they reach the grocery shelves. Previously it would have gone into the trash but in recent times, these food items are put to good use by donating to the needy. Isn’t that so nice to hear?

Leftovers
Have you thought of what you can do about your leftovers? One thing one can do is to donate it to organizations such as FoodHero. They sell these leftover foods to others using their well-designed app. Additionally, Just Dabao is a Singaporean Startup that sells leftover products from bakeries, cafes, and restaurants at a marked-down price. Alternatively, they can go to the food waste treatment facilities mentioned.
